Merwen is quiet for a moment. "I choose not to eat flesh," she says. "Do you think that will present a problem?"

She hopes not. It would be a hard choice to make.

"We grow silkplants directly on the branches of the raft tree we live on," she says, doubtfully. "Still, they aren't parasitic. I should be able to figure something out."
