"Perhaps not," Koumyou, of course, doesn't seem particularly bothered by such a blunt statement. "But it's still the case."

His version of Earth is something of a dumpster fire, he's learned.

"I tried to do better for my son, at least, but I can admit it's not a very high bar to clear."

Even as much of a failure as he views himself, he knows he did better for Kouryuu than anyone had ever done for Houmei. Even with his own violent ending... at least his son would have good memories of him, too.

"But I'm not ashamed of who I was."
