"The most likely answer is that the train's operated by a relatively low tech but rather specialized AI. It seems that the AI itself is cagey, but my opinion is that passengers are asking things it's not designed to do. Imagine it's not s'pposed to have much'f a personality, given the low tech design, despite what some others may say."

V paused a moment.

"Train has an interesting set of abilities, too. I've been told we are brought here because we are tether compatible. I assume tethered to the train, but I'm not sure. Sometimes tethers weaken and people leave - disappear. Train also can enter and exit void space - clearly - though I can't imagine what kind'f power that takes."
