It wasn't something that was easy to explain, even those from his world had only a partial understanding of what was between a king and their kirin. It hadn't even been something he had understood, not at first. And just as he was beginning to learn they had been separated, parted for too many cruel years. To be reunited on this train and then now, torn apart once more.

"You've done so much already." He looks up at him sadly, just being here. Not being alone. That meant more than he could put into words. "I will."

He's not sure there is anything and he doesn't ever wish to be a burden. But he recognises the wish to help and he can accept that.
