[Rich squeezes Asriel's shoulder again, trying to get him to look up so the teen can get him to understand that he's serious. He knows what this is like... a little of what this is like anyways. He's not going to try to tell this kid how he should grieve, but he still thinks he can offer something.]

Sometimes you still get reminders of them, and it still stings, even after a long time. It's impossible to just stop missing them, for that feeling to go away completely. There's ways to deal with it... but it can't disappear. Which is for the best, really, I mean, would you want to forget all about them?
