He looks at the offered hand for a moment before grasping it for a handshake. The gesture still feels odd to participate in. (And hopefully Aziraphale extended his left because Thanatos's right hand is currently being licked and nibbled by a curious Ferdinand.)

"I am Thanatos."

Aziraphale has been talking to a god from Zagreus's world, Death Incarnate himself.
