Okay, so, Yondu has two options here. He could just sorta wander on, leave Devero to it. Or he could watch.

He taught Peter to use his hoverboots when he was nine. Still kind of a fond memory. Not so fond a memory were the times he didn't use them successfully and Yondu had to go spelunking down a hole after his hot-headed idiot (ignoring his crew screaming that he'd gotten soft from one side, and Peter yelling about whatever monster he'd managed to find immediately from the other).
