Though it's fair, since it's so obvious from Madoka's tone just now that she was kind of trying to put the attention somewhere else - anywhere but with herself, anyway. It makes her look a little awkward, but since he says something else after it, it feels much easier to go with that. Though Madoka does mumble a small 'sorry', since it feels too rude to just totally ignore what he first says..

Granted, Kyoko was the girl Madoka knew the least out of their whole group back home. But that habit is something anyone could easily notice just by being around her once.
"She's.. um.." Madoka hesitates a little. It's not great to talk about friends behind their backs, but she only has positive things to say about Kyoko, so then it's not too bad for her to mention it, right?
"She's a really nice person, mister Yondu. I think she tries really hard to not let it show, but.. deep down, she's really nice and wants to help people."
