He quirked a smile. "I guess. I manage okay. I'm not good at dancing around things." He had no patience for that.
"Ink?" Senku looked surprised a moment as he considered what Dennis could mean and then it dawned on him. "Ah." He touched the line on his forehead for confirmation.
"These are scars left behind from being petrified." Senku explained. "When you're petrified for a long time, some of the cells on the surface will die, and the initial crack leaves a scar of sorts behind. If I got petrified again, it would go away though." He hadn't had the experience.
"If you see Gen, he's got a line like this." He used his thumb to trace a jagged line down his cheek. "His is fake." He hummed and sipped his tea. "His has a different meaning. It's his show of support. He's from ahead of me, apparently he got everyone who was petrified to replace their scars like some kind of war paint with makeup."
In a way, it definitely was a war. One he intended to win.
