On the one hand: Dev's really not an animal guy. On the other: this is Koumyou's animal, and he's going to have to cohabitate with it, just as he'd learned to cohabitate with Princess and Dancer and Lele-- okay, Lele doesn't count. But the point still stands.

So he slides down beside Koumyou on the floor and extends his hand towards the cat. He gives it a second to change its mind, but it doesn't.

"I'm your person's person," he explains to it as he strokes his hand down the cat's spine. Can it understand him? Who knows. But it's a demon as much as it's a cat so he's going to play it safe.
