"How to put this... I guess there's two parts to it. For one, fate is a driving force in a lot of pantheons - think ancient prophecies that are bound to come to pass, and that kind of thing. My pantheon's obsessed with it more than most, what with the whole Ragnarok thing hanging over their heads... it can be a problem. Like, a big problem. It also annoys the shit out of other pantheons, I think... since they're more focused on the current apocalyptic fight than the future one."
Not that both aren't important, but... details. "For another it makes sure that children of the gods are never stuck in boring times, for better or for worse. 'Exciting' things always get pulled to us, or we get pulled to them. Sometimes other people can be drawn into our lives and slotted into 'roles' in a story - rival, hapless best friend, patron... that sort of thing. Regular mortals tend to be the ones who suffer the most - sometimes they just totally lose their identities in favor of what Fate shoves them into. It also tends to put people close to us in danger. And yes, I know you deal with danger all the time. That doesn't mean you should be forced into more."
it's not wrong though
