Who: Peter, Aunt May, and open!
What: Peter's hanging out with his Aunt and introducing her to everyone he knows.
When: Day Sixteen
Where: Kitchen/dining car

Peter's probably talked nonstop over the past hour about everything on the train and other stuff too. He's so happy to have his aunt back he doesn't even care about the fact he's in so much trouble. He can live with that. Probably. Until he gets bored anyways. But right now who cares?

"-And then we went to this Mountain where this lady-uh Albany and her kids ran this Inn. It was really nice and I taught the kids how to play the floor is lava and uh freeze tag and stuff. That was fun and their mom made like really bomb pancakes and the best lemonade ever-I mean I know I'm not supposed to drink it and all but ohmygod Aunt May it was the best! Like oh my god, I could never give that up." He rambles from where he's leaning against one of the walls.

"-it was a really weird world though. We were there to pick flowers and herd these bat like things called Dralite-they were really cute, by the way, anyways-we had to like also get rid of this giant gorilla-I'm pretty Mr Stark just like.. shot a repulsor beam at it and pretty much just yote it right off the cliff and like-Mission accomplished. But the goats bit! I tried to move them and one bit me on the stomach and oh my god that sucked." He explains in an energetic way that only he can really manage. "But it's okay-I mean I healed up just fine-not even a scar." He lifts up his shirt to show her no traces of the bit in case she was worried.

It had been a while since Conan had talked to Peter.

So of course when he sees him chatting the ears off one of the new arrivals he can't resist finding out what was going on.

"Peter? What's going on?"

Peter drops the hem of his shirt down when someone else enters the dinning car and glances back. Oh, it's just Conan. He hides a slight sigh of relief and just offers a grin.

"Hey Conan! This is my Aunt May! She's awesome and the bestest Aunt in the whoooooole multiverse." He flashes a cheesey grin May's direction before hugging her tightly for what is probably the tenth or eleventh time that day.

Sometime in his ramblings Peter will realise he has a stalker. She hasn't figured out how to sneak around Peter yet, when he can hear her very heartbeat but when he's distracted like this it's probably a good time to start.

She had avoided the platform. It was good to know which new people had arrived but she could read the passenger roster and honestly after the last world she had had enough rain to last her whole life. She had no desire to go out in it again.

She had seen this woman though, this person who Peter seemed so fond of. May. His aunt. Whatever an aunt was, some kind of family. One of the one's of Peter's who weren't dead.

So she had been following, wanting to know more about her.

Peter can hear her heart beat-it one of many that he's memorized and pays special attention to. However, right now he's just so focused on talking to Aunt May that it's more like something that he's much less focused on.

It's not until he pauses, the hem of his shirt still lifted to show off his lack of a scar that he realizes that Buttercup seems to be following him around. He lets his shirt drop and glances around.

"Oh hey!" He greets her with his normal friendly cheer. "Buttercup! This is Aunt May-Aunt May, this is Buttercup-She's really quiet but she's fun to talk to." Even if she doesn't talk much herself. "Actually! I got something for you! Well two things for you! Hang on!" He grabs a parcel that was sitting on the counter and pulls it open before grabbing two books out-one is the Novel 'The Princess Bride' and the other is the science experiments book for kids and hands them both to her.

"The third one I'm gonna need to edit so all the names and places are the way they're supposed to be. If you want-I can read you the Princess Bride. I don't think you'll have much trouble with it though except maybe the beginning because there's a pretty long intro about him growing up in Chicago...? If I remember right?"

Wade wandered the train for a while, it looked like they had picked up a few new people, which in retrospect, would explain the rando in his room. Well, while everyone else was running around greeting the newbs, he made his way up to the dining car. Hopefully it wouldn't be as busy as the rest of the train.

"♫♪ I heard that you were talkin' shit and you didn't think that I would hear it, ♪♫" he belted, moving up the stairs to the second level. "♫♪ People hear you talkin' like that, gettin' everybody fir- ♯" He stopped short, staring at Peter and the woman he was with. After a second, he smiled and sidled over.

"Hey there, Spidey, who's this foxy mama you're keeping all to yourself?"

Peter stops mid-ramble about his trip to Ciyesia and the bitey goats that sucked when he hears Wade singing and makes a face as he turns to watch him come up the stairs. He's trying to place if he knows that song or not.

And then he goes and calls Aunt May foxy. Does literally everyone have to his on his Aunt? And in front of him? Jeez! He thought you were cool, Wade.

"Um.. this my Aunt May." He says a little awkwardly. "May, this is Wade. He's pretty cool." Kind of odd, but in a good way. Mostly.

May had been listening to Peter yammer on about everything and anything to do with the train and she had to admit it was nice to see him so happy. After everything that had happened he deserved to have something good happen to him and if that was her showing up in this strange place then she would roll with it and make the most of it.

"Hello," she replied returning her nephew's hug -again- before turning back to Conan. "It's good to meet you. Did you want to join us?" she offered.

May frowned at the thought of Peter being bitten but she was still relieved that it hadn't even scared. He was the closet thing to a son that she had, of course she therefore worried about him being injured. Watching him interact with Buttercup made her wish he had a younger sibling growing up. It would have been nice to have a large family but what was was and there was nothing that could be done about it.

"Hello Buttercup, it's nice to meet you. Those books look a lot of fun. The Princess Bride is one of my favorites," she tells her with a smile.

That was a lot of enthusiasm. But Conan was learning to expect that from Peter.

"Nice to meet you! I'm Conan Edogawa." That was also much more polite that Peter had seen Conan behave so far. But when meeting adults for the first time Conan liked to put on the act of being the well behaved small child he wasn't.

"I guess. I don't have anything to do right now."

May was about to ask a question about the wound that Peter was showing her when they were interrupted by a guy singing a song she doesn't recognise. Foxy? She doesn't know if she has ever been called that, Ben at least never had while they were together and to have two people hit on her in a short period of time was surprising to her.

She will just ignore it for now. "Hello Wade, are you a friend of Peter's?" she asks with a smile.

She wasn't surprised that Peter knew she was there and she stepped out of hiding immediately. Clearly sneaking up on spider boys needed more practice but for now she was more interested in meeting and learning more about this Aunt May.

She was surprised that Peter called her quiet. Well maybe not surprised, to Peter the whole world was probably quiet because he talked so much. But she felt like she had talked more in the last month and a half than she had in all the time she had been on her own world before.

Peter lept from topic to topic as usual and it was a little hard to keep up. But she grinned at Aunt May. "It do be being nice to be meeting you too. I do be being a good reader so you do no be needing to be worrying about reading to me, Peter."

Now that almost the entirety of the Purple Team, if not most of the train, know that he's a vampire, Joscelin doesn't need to sneak about to drink blood. It's a relief. Still, he hadn't expected quite this much of an audience as he enters the kitchen for an afternoon snack.

"...Peter, you're blocking the refrigerator," he says eventually, after a full two minutes of listening to the boy chattering inanely at an unknown woman.

As he should. Peter is enthusiastic. It's just part of who he is. Or it is now. Back when Peter was Conan's supposed age, he was very quiet and unenthusiastic about everything that wasn't science. He squints a little suspiciously in Conan's direction because when did he learn to mind his manners?

"I mean, to be fair, we're all trapped on the void train going who even knows where, none of us really have anything to do-I'd challenge you to not!Mario Kart or Crisis On but I'm grounded."

Which is something he's just gonna gloss over because there's no real reason to go into detail as to why that is. Especially not in front of Aunt May.

"So, want some tea or something?"

Peter probably knows Gwen is in the dining car already. Familiar heartbeat and all that shit. And he’s probably not going to be surprised to see her wedged up high in a corner as spider teens are prone to do. She has her journal on her knees and her hair hanging in her face as she draws. Most likely it’s her drum kit project, writing down things that Might Work, setting up a placement design. As she’s been doing for a while.

And she was smart enough to put herself where people would see her when they walk in. They have the benefit of not being her adopted brother Harry Hook, so there will be no scaring the shit out of anyone today.

When she hears Peters comment about not having a scar, she drops to the floor and lands gracefully, rubbing the spot on her own shoulder where that stupid arrow has gone through and, teasingly;

“That’s probably because the goats didn’t have goblin poison on them. Unlike the arrows from our recent mission. I think I might just have a permanent scar from that.” Don’t worry, she’s not mad at either Peter or the scar. She’s teasing. It’s what she does to show she cares. Turning to May, she gives the woman her best grin and holds out her hand to introduce herself.

“Gwen Stacy. Hello!”

Peter just nods, happy that Buttercup is getting to meet who is quite possibly the best and most awesome woman ever. He's talked about her on numerous occasions but now she actually gets to meet her!

"Yeah, it's a really great story. But if you let me read it to you-I can do voices and stuff like May used to when she'd read to me-or! Hy Aunt May, wanna read us a book?" He bats his eyelashes at her dramatically.

"Mr Stark got really mad about it because I kinda tried to talk myself out of getting in trouble and got in more-you know. Yolo." He's still chattering to his Aunt. "And after we left we picked up more people at another station and-Oh sorry" He glances over at Joss and just very calmly slides away from where he's blocking the fridge.

"Have you met my Aunt May? Aunt May, this is Joss. He's also on the purple team with me-I mean I guess that's kinda obvious from the uh hoodies." He pulls at the fabric a little.

Peter really doesn't like thinking about the fact she got shot with an arrow and he has yet to confess to anyone about getting shot in the back of his leg while gagging over Deadpool's hand because Goblins apparently don't believe in common courtesy.

"Hey!" He stands up straight, thoughts pulling away from the first adventure on the train. "Uh, May, this is Gwen-Gwen this is Aunt May. Gwen-Gwen's my girlfriend." He introduces. "She's great. She's awesome. She also has uh... spider powers."

May was happy to let them talk but she raised an eyebrow at the fact that Peter was grounded. She and he would have to have a conversation about that and probably with Tony too as she couldn't imagine anyone else who would be grounding him, at least based on what she could tell. She was glad that someone was looking out for him and perhaps she would have to reassess her opinion of Tony. Maybe. She would see.

"I'm sure you are a wonderful reader but there's something amazing about being read too. How about I try reading to you and you can see what you think? It's been awhile since I read to Peter as it is," she said with a laugh, rolling her eyes at his nephew. She didn't care though, she would do anything for him though.

"Hello Joss," May says with a smile. "It's good to meet you. Are you friends? I'm always happy to meet friends of Peter," she says shooting him a glass at the mention of trouble. "You're supposed to stay out of trouble Pete."

Conan eyes Peter skeptically. In their short acquaintanceship Conan had learned that Peter was every bit as trouble prone as the detective boys, despite there only being one of him.

"What did you do this time?"

Girlfriend. Okay. May can deal with that even though in her time he was dating MJ. Peter was from before then and she really just wanted him to be happy. That was the main thing she wanted.

"Hello Gwen," she says with a bright smile. "I'm glad to meet you," she says honestly. "I apologise in advance for anything Peter does that is awkward," she teases her nephew, giving him a wink as she speaks. "Would it be rude to ask how you got your powers?" she asks curiously.

"I'm glad to meet you, too." The faint tease at her boyfriend gets a small smile from Gwen and she gives him a soft smile, too. It's very clear she loves Peter in the way she looks at him.

"I don't mind the awkward. It's one of my favorite things about him." She had dozens of things that she likes about him, his awkwardness one of them. May's question about how she got her powers only briefly has her hesitating.

"My bandmates and I were at a gig on stage. A genetically enhanced spider had gotten out of a nearby lab and bit me in the middle of a set. I was sick for a couple days after while my DNA rewrote itself, I guess. Now I have a lot of the same powers Peter does. Enhanced strength, enhanced agility, rapid healing, enhanced senses. I'm my city's one and only Spider-Woman. And my universe's one and only Spider-Person. We're not from the same universe."

Something amazing about being read to? She wasn't sure, but she can't remember a time when she couldn't read and so she couldn't actually remember ever being read to. Sometimes they would read to each other. But she's not thinking about that. It was getting easier. To put all the memories she didn't want away and concentrate on just the present.

It sort of helped that she was on a train hurtling through a multicoloured void with weird people from worlds far flung from hers. It gave the whole experience distance from her life before.

"If you do be wanting to be reading to us I will be listening, miss Parker." She's pretty sure 'aunt' is a word you can only use if you are some sort of family. Peter calls Tony 'mister Stark' so an honorific and the second name seemed how it worked on their world.

Peter's eyes widen almost comically and his jaw tightens. He wants to shake his head to signal to Conan not to bring this up in front of his Aunt but he can't. He's the one that brought it in the way of rambling because that's just what he does.

...

But Conan didn't have to mention that 'this time!' like he gets in trouble every week. Does he get in trouble every week?

"Uh... you know. Just... teenager stuff." Like he's gonna give himself away that easily.
