It's A Beautiful Night...[Open]

Who: Every single passenger is invited.
Where: Garden Carriage

What: Senku and Gen are getting married! There's free cake!
Warnings: There's a potential for some real sap in here.

The Garden Carriage has been decked out with the repurposed origami stars that had been folded for previous parties Gen has thrown, strung up among the statues. But otherwise, the garden is otherwise undecorated - apparently, they just believed the beauty of the scenery worked on its own.

Carefully on a side path in the carriage was a table dragged in from elsewhere so they could put food and cake out to enjoy. The usual benches were untouched for people to sit and eat or rest as needed.

They were using Senku's laptop to play something softly in the background here - something upbeat people could dance to to if they really liked. Earth denizens may or may not recognize the songs playing from the memory stick, but many of them are from one songstress Lillian Weinberg.

It's a pretty casual atmosphere, compared to previous weddings on the train - much more low-key, where people could more easily chat and mingle.

Down the train, the dressing carriage has been opened in case people want to dress up, they will find any manner of blue clothing, in honour of the colours of the people who live in Ishigami Village.

Senku dragged Gen along with his sleeve to the centre of the car where the fountain was. He didn’t shout, he probably didn’t need to, he just cleared his throat.

Both Senku and Gen were dressed in formal clothing. Senku had white hakama on, with teal nagagi and a green haori. Gen had a plum hakama, dark pink nagagi and a pink haori. Both finished their outfits with long scarves. Senku had his hair pulled back into a high ponytail, tied off with a piece of silk rope. That same silk rope adorned a wrist for each of them, tied off in a little knot.

Senku seemed to take a deep breath. “Thanks for coming to our party to celebrate our marriage.”

He smiled. “There isn’t much by the way of ceremonies anymore, not with how our world is, but we can have hearty food and drink together as a community and acknowledge this is something that’s supposed to be nice.”

He glanced at his intended and smiled fondly at him, before shrugging at the audience. “I’m not much for ceremony. That’s it. As Chief of Ishigami Village, we’re now married.”

Gen grinned slightly. "I think you're just forgetting one tiny little detail, Senku-chan, that'll symbolically seal the deal. Even if it's not strictly ecessary-nay ..."

He leaned in to give his husband a soft kiss, and then winked at the crowd. "Now, please, everyone - enjoy the party!"

Senku and Gen would likely sit on one of the benches, so people could find them if they wanted to give them well wishes.

The happy couple isn’t quite attached at the hip and neither are the other partygoers – in fact some might be hiding in the corners as wallflowers, dancing, grabbing food, anything really.

It was the perfect time to catch up with other train residents and just relax a little.

Certainly, the reason that Gen believes most people would come. It's an easy way passengers can connect, since, who wouldn't want a cake?

The table also held the results of Senku and Xingchen’s cooking – a hearty bear curry, that he’d whipped up with the rest of his personal inventory, a fish stew made from what was in the kitchen, a vegetable stir fry that might be a bit plain, but it is vegetarian. As sides, there was rice and flat breads. There was really enough for everyone to have a taste of everything, but no more than a usual dinner.

There was also cola, for people like Gen and children, and wine in a mix of white and red, for those who would like that kind of thing. It's traditional!

Notice that Gen won't have a glass, but Senku definitely had one.

Senku is going to protest. There was just a dance. Did they need more?

But, no, music is playing in the background, and someone might remind him that there was usually dancing with a wedding.

When the food, drink and ceremony are done it was time to crank up the music.

Who knows, maybe the happy couple will be found on the dance floor, especially if their village’s only favourite song comes on.

Someone's created a load of paper airplanes, and drawn-up targets around the walls of the garden carriage.

Said someone might have handwriting suspiciously similar to Gen Asagiri.

Either way - it seems to be suggested that he thinks people could throw around planes and try to hit the targets.

Of course, if people instead use them to hit other passengers ... on purpose or accident ...

Gen offered a hand to Senku - because, please. If there's any day they could be sappy, wasn't it this one?

Though he was anticipating someone might come by to offer them their congratulations, he couldn't resist leaning over to whisper something to Senku - "So, do you believe the train might finally allow us to share a room now, my dearest?"

It was probably the only day he could be openly sappy. Gen should cherish it. He let him have his hand as they settled down, he crossed his legs a little inelegantly.

"I'm skeptical." He murmured in return. "Aside from asking, I'm not sure what we can do...and asking for that hasn't worked in the past."

Of course, if, by chance, you don't know how to make a paper airplane ... you might be finding someone rather willing to teach you. Gen was humming brightly was he was making a small fleet ... it might actually be a good experiment, to see how far they'd be able to fly down the train's corridor. Wouldn't you think?

Romeo grinned at him from where he was attempting to make paper aeroplanes. He was doing an alright job even if folding paper was really tricky!

He grinned at Gen.

"Hello mister Gen! Congratulations on getting married! You must be really happy!"

Senku was all too happy to find his way to the food, it might be a wedding but it was probably the most informal thing anyone had likely seen.

It was perfect like that.

He grabbed a plate and helped himself to rice and bread before spooning curry over the rice and adding a bit of the stew to fill the rest of the plate. He paused to pour himself another glass of wine.

Hug incoming. C'mon, he had to see this coming.

"Congrats, Sen-Shine~!"

Hug from behind with a small dash of noogie? It must be Della Duck.

"Congrats, Gen~!"

Senku will allow it this time without complaint.

"Thank you, Airavata." He said with a bright grin, as he was in an exceptionally good mood.

Entrapta didn't need to bring a present. But she did anyway. It's a box of beakers. She'd broken half her supplies up so she could bring him something that he could absolutely use.

She tries to find a safe place to leave the box which is pretty much a cardboard box with a glittery purple bow on it. That's decoration, right? Right! She did at least remember to wear blue herself. It's another pantsuit sort of thing, but she remembered and that's the important part!

Kitty had always been a bit of a romantic. Even with some of the things that have happened over the past few years, things like a wedding still held a certain appeal to her.

Currently she was standing a little off to the side of the reception, watching the party in full swing while nursing a glass of sparkling cider. She was planning on joining in the fun in a moment, but for now, she was happy just watching.

She did still need to find the happy couple to congratulate them, though.

Inigo doesn't move to congratulate the couple right away. He figures all of this is probably kind of overwhelming to Senku, since he so doesn't seem like the wedding type - even if this kind of wedding is.. relatively lowkey, Inigo assumes. (Look, he's only used to big palace weddings back home, okay, anything is relatively lowkey compared to that.)

But it's not like he doesn't want to say anything at all to Senku on a day like this, so the moment he spots the other sitting there with some food, Inigo does move to sit near him - with some food himself, you know, so it seems real casual.

"Congratulations, Senku." He smiles. "So, how does it feel?"

"So, do you feel any different?" She teased, ruffling his hair a bit as she pulled away.

Romeo got a bright smile, as he moved to scoot a little closer to him. That way, they could both watch their movements as they folded - Gen was hoping to give him some tips.

"Thank you, Romeo," Gen said with genuine cheer. "I am, I am. It's not something I would've ever expected would happen - well, I wouldn't have imagined this train at all, honestly! But I'm very happy."

"Ack, not the hair!" Gen pretended to protest, while not trying too hard to get Della off of him. His giggling probably gave him away - he had far, far better lies under his belt than this one.

He grinned once she was on her own feet again. "Thank you, Della. And thank you for coming. I know it's not quite so elaborate as a haunted house ..."

There's a purple bow! It's very shiny! That would've been enough to catch Gen's attention, beyond the fact he wanted to make certain he said hello to everyone.

"Thank you for coming, my dear!" Gen greeted her with a large smile. "And thank you for the gift. I'll overlook the part where we said they weren't needed."

He winked, making it as clear as he could he was joking around with that kind of comment. "It's a pleasure meeting you."

Gen happened to find her first - all bright grins, these ones genuine, as he made his way around from guest to guest.

"Kitty!" Gen beamed. "Thank you for coming. I'm glad you were able to make it - I realize it's a long way to travel."

Well, he'd still tease and joke around a bit - that's just who he was.

"Mmm, but what's the harm in trying? The train, for all that it doesn't listen, at least doesn't seem inclined to retaliate against our annoying questions," Gen remarked, rubbing his thumb against Senku's hand.

"I suppose. I'll ask, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you." Senku advised with a bit of a hum. "You can ask too, maybe it will happen."

He couldn't really say, really. It was alright, either way, they were managing as it was.

"Hey." Senku said, approaching Entrapta. He smiled, appreciating the blue even though it wasn't strictly necessary.

"Thanks for coming." He looked a bit awkward saying that. "We brought small plates over for you."

Senku would find her quite a bit later and offer her a smile.

"Thanks for coming, Kitty." He said, meaning the words easily enough. "Gen's rather proud of the cake, I hope you had some."
