Who: Masumi Sera and You!

What: It's Masumi's eighteenth birthday.

1. Birthday Surprise (Closed to Little One, Merwen, and Ea-nasir, Cabin Upper 1-C)
[Masumi's gotten into the habit of checking the roster each morning, since she knows that her birthday should be coming up soon, but it's hard to tell when exactly due to the fact that it's hard to really tell time in the void.
And this morning is no different, up until she realizes that the roster has finally updated her age to eighteen. Masumi can't help but let out a happy little gasp at the update, though her mood is slightly brought down by the fact that she's still away from home.
Still, she's happy.]
2. Spa Car
[She's headed down to the spa car at some point in the day, having decided to go ahead and make use of it for something besides trying to relax after a mission. As a result, she's in the pool, apparently having chosen to wear a bathing suit rather than go naked.
If anyone happens to come by, then she's perfectly willing to talk, or share if they want to use the space too. She's not going to hog the whole thing, after all.]
3. Dining Car
[Late in the day Masumi settles down in the Dining car with a bottle of cider she bought and a book from the library, apparently not wanting to take an open drink into the library car. After all, if she were still in Britain then she'd be old enough to buy her own alcohol and she's taking advantage of that. (If asked though, she'll just say that the train didn't exactly stop her, since she's still trying to hide her British ties.)
If approached, she'll look up with a cheerful greeting and gesture to indicate she's happy to have company. She doesn't really have anything planned after all, so company is always welcome.]

But she hears Masumi stir and then gasp. She rolled over so she was looking over the side of her bed, towards the table where the ICP was.]

Unable to refuse, Masumi forces a smile to her face and takes the lantern, that smile only becoming more forced as she notices the coupon.]
Thanks, I'm sure I'll find a use for it. [Maybe. One of these days. Perhaps if the train loses power or something, but when will that happen?
In the meantime she just carefully sets the lantern aside.]

I sure will think of you whenever I use this. Any ideas where I can keep this? [There's only so much room in the cabin, and unlike Ea-nasir Masumi tries to keep her space clean. She is absolutely going to get Ea-nasir to help her store the thing, given she also has clothes, supplies, and a few odds and ends to store too.]

How would you share celebrations, normally? A special meal, a ritual? What's normal for you?

Birthday celebrations can vary between families, but often there's a birthday cake served. It can be any kind of cake, but it's common for there to be at least one candle for the celebrant to blow out, especially among kids. It's also common for friends and family to give gifts to the birthday person.
For me specifically, since I was living in a different country from my brother until recently, he would usually make sure to do a video call to talk to me that day. That can't happen here, but it was something that happened.
[Obviously she's not expecting that much, since she never mentioned her birthday before now, but Merwen did ask.]
