Kitchen, Library, or the Lab

When is the last place this place was so clean it sparkled? When were the kitchen counters so clean you could ponder the possibility of eating off them? When was every book in the library set up, alphabetically, by author? The lab is new. It just looks like an engineering type moved everything to where it would most logically be moved. But the thing is, while everyone else was out being mind controlled, Raptor was here. Alone. In the train. With nothing to do.

You'll find her finishing up cleaning, involved in a deep conversation with the rag she is using, not noticing you have come back. "I understand that romance doesn't have to be the only motivation, but you have to agree, in most of the best stories it is a prime motivation. Right?"

The Gym

Raptor is either transformed into Washi Pink, taking advantage of the fact that it has been empty to practice her flying or posing. Or Raptor-283, sweeping up all the pink feathers that fall from her wings when she flies.

Humming a tune she continues one or the other. Interrupt her?

There are two reasons Haneul finds this deeply awkward. One is the contents of the paper. The other is the fact that thanks to his continued lack of gloves, he knows exactly who said paper belongs to. And she's one of his teammates. Some days (okay, most days), Haneul really, really hates contact postcognition.

(It does explain a lot about that notebook she was guarding, though. Paperwork, his ass.)

He takes some time to see if he can find any other pages, trying not to wince at anything on them, before searching for Raptor. "So, uh," he says, trying to be as neutral about this as possible as he hands the pages over, "I think you lost a few things."

[washibot]

Raptor stops cleaning then looks over, "Eh? I didn't loose anything that I can think of. Why?"

Then she sees the pages and flails madly, "THOSE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO IN THE TRASH WHY DO YOU HAVE THEM!?"

[killer_rhythm]

Yeah, about that. "Be...cause they weren't in the trash."

[washibot]

".....But I threw them away. ARGH! THIS PLACE!"

She stands up and flails more, "FIRST! Everyone vanishes, for days, it was just me, and the train, ALONE! So I did things to entertain myself! But no! They didn't come out right. So I figured then I'd take inspiration from around me! NO! STILL NOTHING!"

Huff, huff, huff.....

"And then the train decided to... do this?" Rude, train.

[washibot]

"YES THAT IS PROBABLY WHAT HAPPENED!"

There's no way she wandered off daydreaming, then got involved in looking for someone or cleaning or anything else and forgot about it. No way at all. She's going to go with the train.

"No one even radioed back for support like back home!"

She puts her hands on her hips, "Were you in some sort of really cool fight or something?!"

When in doubt, blame the train.

"There was a fight at the end, but a lot of people spent most of the time mind-whammied into believing they were other people before that."

[washibot]

"I am so tired of missing the fights."

She pouts, ignoring the mind wammied part. Sure mind wammies suck, but she hasn't really gotten to let her hypothetical hair down.

"So is everyone back now, or are you coming back as you loose the fight and tomorrow everyone will be back?"

She has to ask, to know if she has time to see if there are any other pages left, or if she needs to change her name and move to a different part of the train.

"People are back, I think." Sorry, Raptor.

Her shoulders just slump and she looks down, ".....I need to find the airlock. Maybe if I ride on the roof of the train for a stop or two everyone will forget about the great Earth hero Gumshoe....."

"If it helps, your name's not on these as far as I know. I only know because I picked one of the pages up."

[washibot]

Well that's something. Still, who else would have her del.... Wait. No one from home is here. No one knows this is her hobby. That's something.

"Right. So.... If I just write differently then no one will know! I mean it isn't like one or two pages can offend anyone that much, right?!"

Raptor, your idea of high romance is hand holding. You are writing about a super sleuth hero who throws gum at villain's shoes. While it is ridiculous, it probably is some of the tamest stuff on the train.

"As long as you're not writing, like, porn or something." Not that he can really picture Raptor writing porn. "Some people might even be flattered." He hopes.

[washibot]

"I haven't met Porn. What team are they on?"

She tilts her head in confusion.

[killer_rhythm]

...Nope. He is Not Going There. "Never mind. We had a lot of strangers get dragged into that mess on the planet so I was probably thinking of one of them."

[washibot]

"Oh, so there's no Porn on the train. Okyuu"

She nods and salutes at that

Hajime is tired on several levels after That Mess, and he's just trying to make his way back to his cabin, when he is distracted by a few torn out pieces of paper from a notebook.

He shouldn't look. He should just keep walking. Keep right on walking. But he can't help himself; he's going to pick it up and read it to see what the hell it is.

Well, there might be porn on the train for all he knows, but like hell is Haneul going to say anything about that.

(What team are they on. Fucking hell.)

"It was kind of a mess down there."

And with that the spider queen granted the powers of eternal youth and a heart of justice to the boy Conan. When her webs covered him, the shadows took hold and he became the great hero of justice, Gumshoe! No villain could escape his endless pursuit as they were stuck to the ground by their evil and his gum!

With his new powers in hand the lad went out into the world. Remembering to keep his identity secret so the evil forces of the Dark Ninja clan wouldn't find him or his fa...... {Keep reading?}

He pauses at her next statement, thinking for a moment. "If it does, nobody's ever mentioned it to me."

The next few lines were heavily crossed out before it continued....

Before Conan was exposed to the world of heroes he believed that the world was black and white. But in reality, battles were always grainy and monochrome, bleached of color by distance or distortion. The fighter's uniforms were grey, ochre, olive drab, or urban camo. That made sense; a bright uniform would get you killed.

But since engaging with the Dark Ninja clan, led by Hajime the destroyer, he'd learned that the war between good and evil was fought in hideous technocolor.
