"Well, it's a bit of a different story when you're in the Army," Cassie says. "You can ask my mom about that. I actually had a big talk with her about it as soon as I got back. Set me straight on some things."

She runs a hand through her hair. "Like how blaming it for making me forget who I really was was fuckin' dumb. Which I already knew, but...yeah. And how I don't have to live the same hard life she did. My dad still protects Earthrealm when he needs to.

"I guess what was really getting me was that I hadn't ever really thought that getting married could be something I want. And I can't 100% say I'd like to be married to Trunks, but I'd at least like to have the chance to."

She shakes her head. "It is my kinda luck that I meet someone who makes me think things like that and he turns out to be from another universe."
