Warnings: Probably nothing? Darkness talks????
First real mission was of course on a planet that messed with energy. Shadow had barely been there an hour before he felt weak and sick. The bane of being a not fully solid being of energy. Rather than be a burden, it seemed better to retreat.
He was trying to be a better person for the sake of his loved ones. One he know wouldn't want him to suffer, and he had no desire to self sacrifice himself when others could do the work.
He does figure he can make himself useful. He makes sure the kitchen and bathrooms are clean for the sake of the chores. He takes stock of what's usually in the kitchen and familiarizes himself with staples that last more longterm, creating extra. Even as people return to the train, they could find him doing much the safe, cleaning, and creating stuff like flour and salt with a burst of dark energy with the food supplies.
He, of course, also trains. Focusing more on the sword and with a bow and arrow because after that world, he needs to be more prepared to work without his powers.
A lot of the rest of the time, he'll be in the library. Reading books he's unfamiliar with...or potentially napping.
