Lea looked up upon hearing Essek's voice and smiled a little. "Nah, Red's officially on meal duty," he said. "This is just something I do sometimes on platform days or after missions. A lot of people could use something comforting and easy to eat on those days, so soup is a good solution."

He went back to finishing the prep on the carrots as he continued. "Plus, there's something relaxing about it. I used to help my mom cook a lot when I was a kid, so it's something familiar, you know? What I'm making's actually based on her recipe." He chuckled slightly. "She came up with it as a way to get me to eat my vegetables, since I was kinda a picky eater back then."
