At least it doesn't sound very aggressive. She isn't being combatitive here, not wanting to argue with him, but apparently they are both just invested in upholding their own pride here.. even if said pride is related to knowledge of what's scary, apparently.

The girl stands up after a moment though.

"Why don't we first go over there to see how it will look?" Alice says, her tone even moreso less sharp at this point, like she's trying to compromise. "I want to see what you can do either way."
