A spear? He doesn't recall asking for one? It would be clunky and difficult to manoeuver, at least for him, so it's not his thing. Oh! Unless he meant for his staff dance?
"Nah, the weight is off, an' spears 're too long." He can't even consider practicing with one, since the spearhead would throw off his aim all the time. If he were into contact-dancing, it would be another thing, but Esteban's far more into juggling where the staff is concerned.
He's... not about to start off on the different tools of fire dancing though. That's just begging for a distraction that would take over most of their afternoon, just to explain the different rope styles.
He's more careful when he glances through the armoury this time around, checking for communal stuff; there's a few things he's missed on his first look. The bone knives are... interesting. Esteban might take one at some point-- but he doesn't need it at the moment, so they can stay here for now.
Finally! He spots the rope Tidus has mentioned, but it doesn't take more than a glance to know he won't be able to spin with that. It's solid, he'll grant it that; but it's coarse and too thick to twist easily.
"It's here!" he calls out nonetheless, to make sure his companion stops the futile search. He still reaches for it, but with that weave, he'd harm himself more than anything, so he doesn't keep it in hand for too long.
Hmmm. Back to square one, then.
Could he get just the rope from the train's shop? He's had quite a hard time just getting his votes in this morning-- the ICP is not a tool he is even remotely comfortable with. And could he get exactly what he wants regardless? The half-elf isn't sure; Romeo had mentioned that he could get a specific book, but Esteban hadn't gotten familiar enough with the system that he could think to do that yet.
It's enough to make him back away with a soft sigh, ruffling the back of his head roughly and stretching out the tension that he'd somehow accumulated.
"Not good," he indicates, even though he's pretty sure Tidus would have already caught on. "Guess I can't try an' cobble one right now." He'll get there, though, no worries.
I... don't understand the comment about "hun"? It was just a noise, not exactly a word?

"Thanks for tryin' t' help!"
