Hmm. That's a level of Existential Crisis Esteban isn't too familiar with. He is more of the train of thought that thinking that deeply about anything is just begging to be left with more questions than answers-- and though Esteban loves asking, it's mostly because he enjoys the answers just as much.
"D'you think that there's a 'right' Amaya, and a 'wrong' Amaya?" He's not unkind in his question, a soft smile still at the corners of his lips as he does his best to reassure her. "D'you think you w'ld love them any less, 'f you were th' 'wrong' Amaya?" This is... a lot harder than he thought, to be honest. He doesn't delve in these depths, usually.
"If I--" He struggles to put it into words, swallowing the lump that wants to crawl back atop his heart, heavy-set and a weight too big for him to express. "If I found someone again, who'd gone missing. For days, months, years. If I found them again, an' they didn't remember me. Or if they'd never known me at all. I would still love them. Still be happy to see them." But then, Esteban's case is... special.
"At the very least, y'can make sure they're safe. Happy." Hmm. He is... absolutely not helping out on that front, is he? Time to move on real quick.
"An' I'll stay back an' help anyone who needs help; y'don't need to worry 'bout anyone here but yourself!"
