"I would care very much." He cares a lot about even people he doesn't necessarily know, but for Allen he cares a lot more for those he was friends with. For him they were special.

Plus friends were not something he had a whole lot of previously.

"Even if it were to happen on a mission I would still cry even though people come back, which that whole thing still worries me even though that is not something new either." Mostly he worries about if there are side effects or a meaning behind how that works exactly. He never really died himself in the other places but knew death and coming back was also a thing.
