Who: Spark and whoever encounters him
Where: All the public areas of the Train.
When: Before the mission
What: Trying to regain Spark.

Spark has to come to terms with the fact that Adrien... just isn't showing up. He knew Leia kept telling him he needed to trust others, to not hide so much of himself anymore. But maybe it was time to go back to just being Spark. Maybe he had to just stop being Gar and Privateer Pirate all together. That meant he had to be socializing more as Spark. Well, wasn't like Gar had all that many friends left on the train anyway.

So Spark was wandering the Train cars, and napping in random in the way places to get people to talk to him, even if it is just to make him move. He needed to come to terms with just being Spark, and what was a more cat thing to do than just being constantly in the way....?

Shadow could remember Spark. Its hard to forget people who have personhood issues and he remembers that one camping trip well enough being just...full of people like that.

So he remembers Spark just fine when he heard he was on the train.

Also he liked to nap in random places too, since his nocturnal nature made his room not the ideal place. So its when he's looking for his own nap spot that he catches sight of a familiar cat. "Huh, there ya are. I wonder if I'd see ya."

Spark looked over and then gave a small feline smile and bobbed his head in a nod. "Yeah, I'm here meow."

"I almost forgot the puns," he said, kneeling down. "How ya been?"

"How could you have remembered me and fur-got the puns?" he asked, sounding a little too innocent.

[shadowcourage]

He stuck out his tongue at him. "Been a while since we talked and words are always eh," he said, waving a hand in the air. "One of those weird things about me."

"My puns are a weird thing about you? That's some ego," he teased.

[shadowcourage]

Shadow rolled his eyes. "No, all words. Words are weird," he said.

"So now you're claiming all words?" he asked, rolling onto his side, to present his belly for pets.

[shadowcourage]

Shadow reaches over for belly rubs.

"Nah, told ya I wasn't a normal person. Words are like a second language thing for me," he said with a shrug.

"If words are a second language, what's you're first?"

He just gestures to his whole body.

Spark gave him his most unimpressed look, then considered for a moment. Waitta sec! You remember me! From Nautilus! Which means you remember that place!"

"Yeah," Shadow said. "What, do ya have a lot of people just act like they know ya from outta nowhere?"

"THAT MEANS YOU CAN BEND!!!!!" He hopped up onto all fours again and gave Shadow the biggest widest kitty eyes ever. "You can Bend fish..." he said in a whisper than somehow managed to sound both awed and pleading at the same time.

Shadow raised an eyebrow. "Ya still don't bend for yaself? Spark, ya can totally bend fish too."

"I'm a cat. A Talker. I don't do magic. Talking is all the magic I get. But you... you're a real person... who can Bend fish for a poor starving kitty...."

[shadowcourage]

"...still got those personhood issues, huh?" Shadow asked, and sits down properly on the ground. "I told ya before, I ain't human or Hylian or anything like that. A lot of people would say I ain't a person back home."

"You clearly are a person though. More of one than a cat. And you can Bend. So we could just skip to the part where you sigh, give in, and make me fish, okay?"

[shadowcourage]

Shadow laughs at that. "Why am I a person, Spark? Come on, I wanna hear ya definition, be specific."

[death_from_above]

"Uh uh. Even a cat knows a trap when he smells one."

[shadowcourage]

"Hey, yer the one whose so confident that I'm a person and yer not. I wanna hear what makes ya think I'm one and yer not," Shadow said. "Answer it and ya get a fish. Don't and ya get nothing, I can be pretty heartless."

He twitched. Because obvious trap. But with bait like that...

"Cause you can do Bending and I can't. Gimmie fish."

Try to twist that one on him, Shadow. He dares you.

"That isn't yer definition of a person," Shadow said. "That is yer explanation for why ya won't try bending. But ya can't bend if ya tell yerself ya can't bend because that's how willpower works. So if ya say only a person can bend and yer not a person, of course ya can't bend, and that's the start of the problem."

Shadow leaned closer. "So ya decided ya weren't a person before ya even attempted bending. So ya decided it before that, so ya had a definition before that and that's what I want to know."

He can twist anything.

"You said answer and I get fish. I answered." He almost pointed out that Shadow had never specified that it had to be a good answer, but he didn't want to put it in Shadow's head to give him a bad fish. Not that there was any such thing as a bad fish.

"Answer the question I asked was the deal. I asked for definition. Bending is, at best, evidence. Not a definition," Shadow said, threading his fingers together, resting his chin on it. "Yer the one who acts like the difference is so obvious. So ya have to have an answer."
