What: Cassie and Trunks have a romantic dinner date planned

Cassie and Trunks have never needed to resort to elaborate planning to see each other. Even if they weren't sleeping in the same bed, their world at this point is more or less 14 feet wide. They can't help but run into each other, and show each other affection in all the numerous moments this tight space allows them.

The point is in the planning, the anticipation. The knowledge that they're planning something special to do together.

And that's why it doesn't matter, not even a little bit, that this is the same place she's eaten nearly every meal for the last fourteen months. It's a date. She's gotten all dressed up for the one she loves.

That's all the special this occasion needs.

Normally Trunks would've escorted Cassie. But he'd wanted to set up the meal. And he might've gotten some help in the kitchen, but he'd still tried to set everything up for himself. It was a meal for 4, but knowing his appetite (and probably Cassie too), it wouldn't be hard for them to finish it off.

So the nicest dishware he could find, and he's in the suit she bought for him. With the 4 courses spread out. A shrimp cocktail served in small glass bowls, fresh focaccia bread with a green salad, bourbon chicken with roasted potato wedges, and a chocolate mousse in small cups with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on it.

When Cassie appears, he can't help but smile. It was a joyful smile, as he shoved any thoughts of guilt aside for how good his life on the train was. Determined to enjoy this and have a nice date with his fiancée.

She'd already been smiling the whole walk to the dining car, but her expression brightens even more at the sight of him. She walks up to him to take his hand, happy to be escorted the final few feet.

After a quick kiss, of course.

"Somehow I'd almost forgotten how well you wear that suit."

"I don't have much call to pull it out." Twining their fingers, he brought her hand up for a kiss. "You look beautiful though. I mean, you always do, but..."

"...but I feel prettier when you say it."

She pulls herself a little closer after her hand is kissed.

"Plus, you in a suit, and me wearing white? I figure it's good practice."

"Honestly I don't really care what you wear. But you do look differently beautiful when dressed nicely." The blush was as much because of the emotions, as her words and mild teasing. "I just hope we can keep your dress nice during dinner."

"I've been going to fancy parties since I was three, babe," Cassie says. "I know how to handle 'em. Can guide you through the whole night if you'd like."

"Well, let's start with food. It's been a while since we've done something nice for just us. Not that training and fighting with you aren't fun and nice, but it's...not the same." Trunks guided her to her seat, before taking his own.

"Hmm, looks tasty," Cassie says as she slides into her seat.

"Food doesn't look bad either."

Her teasing just brought a snort in amusement; Trunks had learned. "I had some help in the kitchen, so I can't take all the credit. But I tried."

"It's still you, though," Cassie says. "That's still worth at least, like, one star in my internal Michelin guide."

"That would make more sense if I understood what a Michelin was I'm sure." Trunks quipped, before pouring wine for them both.

"They make tires," Cassie says. "And they also get to decide what restaurants are good, for some reason."

This is her universe's equivalent of dinosaurs being around, as far as she's concerned.

"That's.....okay...sure." Trunks said, accepting it and deciding he was better off not questioning. "It's been a while since we've done something nice just for us, that isn't also fairly routine."

Cassie takes a sip of her drink, then starts carefully with the hors d'eouvres.

"Not a whole lot of options when the world is fifteen feet wide," she says.

"You'd think I'd be starting to get bored with that, but...if anything I'm getting more into it."

"I...still feel guilty. A lot of the time. For just how good my life is on this train. Are there hardships? Yes...." Trunks ducked his head slightly, and took some of the shrimp hors'doeovres himself. "But overall, being kidnapped by the train was and is the best thing that's happened to me."

"It has for me, too," Cassie says. "For a lot of reasons. But mostly because I met someone brave, and strong, and more than everything else, someone kind."

She extends her hand across the table - his to take if he wants.

"For everything your world took from you, it didn't take that away. Didn't take you away. And you've had the chance to give that gift to other worlds now."

She lets a smile creep across her face.

"And when it comes time for you to bring it back home, those fuckers won't know what hit 'em."

How could he not take her hand, and blush under her praise. Ducking his head a bit shyly, his thumb stroking her palm. "Especially because I won't be alone hopefully. And if I am, it won't be for long hopefully either." She'd find a way or he would. But they would find a way to be together.

"And even if worst comes to worst, we'll still have what we had here," Cassie says. "Which is more than either of us had before."

She looks right at him and smiles, smiling with a bit of wistful sadness behind her eyes as her own fingers stroke his. But it doesn't last - the stubborn confidence returns to them quickly.

"But we won't have to settle for that, anyway. We will have a life together. One that's probably gonna lead to you putting a baby or two in me."

That also made him blush harder, but he nodded. "I...was waiting to have that conversation until we were in the same place, that wasn't the train or a mission." But he was glad she brought it up. "But I do want my life to be with you, and I'd love for us to have a family that we plan, together."

"The specifics are probably gonna have to wait until we know how, when, and where we end up together," Cassie says. "But I do want to. I really, really do. You're the first person who's ever made me even think about it. And with you, it just feels...right."

She takes another sip of wine, looking away briefly. Though she wasn't the sort who'd ever written off the possibility completely, it had never been on her radar. So talking about this is nearly as new to her as it is to Trunks.

"Besides, even if I didn't, gotta pass those Cage and Saiyan genes along, right?"

She smiles, softly though a little nervously.

Trunks squeezed her hand before letting go. Taking a sip of his own wine, before moving from his chair. To come around and cup her face, and lean down and kiss her. Holding it, still blushing, but trying to convey so much to her with the action.

It was probably still over all too quickly before he's grinning slightly, and still blushing. Even as blue eyes-opened to watch her, and thumbs stroked her cheek. "Y'know, I thought we got this out of our system last night..." Teasing her.

Cassie lifts her own hand to gently rest beneath his chin, touching him as their lips part.

She chuckles. "Babe, I don't think I'm ever getting that out of my system."

Okay, that brought another quick kiss--almost apologetic as he pulled away again. Moving back to his seat. "I don't think I will either, honestly. And I am still impressed with you."

"'Course you are. I'm impressive."

She chuckles again and finally takes up a shrimp.

"Means you had to do an impressive job yourself."

"It was fun." All of it. "I...kind of would've liked a bit more privacy in hindsight for the playtime. The Training Gym is pretty public, and we also can't really go full out in there." At least he's not blushing now?
