CW: Arachne Monster! (slight Spider/Scorpion descriptions)

I. Platform: New Arrival

Garrett recognized this song and dance. He had played this game before. He looked around at the people surrounding him and felt a pang of deja vu. New people for the Fog god to play with. He was tired of this game. Surprisingly, though, he didn't remember leaving Ryslig this time. Maybe it hadn't been long, or maybe this was something new. He didn't know all the monsters brought in after all. But these people weren't monsters.

His scorpion tail flicked behind him in a nervous gesture. He was the only one already changed and while there were a few unusual looking people in the crowd he felt truly exposed as the monster he'd become. To add to the concern, the fog sent a shiver down his spine. No, not the cold coming from the floor or the chill in the air--the sight of the fog surrounding him made his nerves light on fire. If it was one of Foggy's there would be trouble. It could send him into a rage or cause him to transform into a larger, more hideous and troublesome monster, or both of the aforementioned at the same time. Not good.

Shifty now, Garrett looked for a way to escape the crowd. He couldn't see to well in the fog but he quickly headed in a direction that felt like a good idea.

The vibrations in the ground caused him to freeze almost comically. He felt the train's arrival before he saw it. He watched over his shoulder as the fog parted and revealed the large vessel. He had seen a train before but they were quite rare. It was almost rather majestic to a person like him. But it was also a bit brutish.

He watched as the people departed and--yep, he was nearly the only monster around. What was this? Was this even Ryslig? He was beginning to wonder...

The fog. He snapped back to what he was doing, quickly darting away from all the people. He didn't like all this exposure. Even if this wasn't Ryslig he was still a monster and he needed to get away. He ran until he found the exit stiles and literally ran into a blockage. His tail twitched in irritation as he threw an angry fist at the wall.

"So that's how it is, huh?"

II. The Train

So this was new after all. He had to keep repeating that to himself as he finally answered the call of the train and boarded it. He didn't like it. Pulls like that were never a good thing in his past experience. They left much to be desired in the end. But he had no choice. As usual.

He was a cautious sort. He moved deliberately and slowly through the train. It was quickly evident that he didn't like the closed quarters. Not because the small space, he'd crawl through an air duct any day to get to a piece of treasure, but rather the lack of space between him and the next person he met. He kept his distance.

Part of it was his monster traits. He had trained his limbs well by this point to keep in close to his body. With his usual black attire the dark chitin blended into his clothes quite well and sometimes he actually managed to pass as human. A hooded, rogue figure that was still kinda scary but human nonetheless. But with this damnable orange shirt on? He felt like a neon sign in the red light district. His pincers stood out even folded into his shoulders and forget hiding his tail. The rest of his extra limbs were folded up against his back, too, but that didn't much help either. Then there were his hands and feet--he missed boots but found them irritating with his new features--so he took them off and discarded them as soon as he'd settled on the train. Whoever found them lying around one of the carriages, sorry, he hadn't bothered to find his cabin yet. His claws were as obvious as the rest of him. He had drawn up the hoodie as soon as he'd noticed it though so his extra eyes were hard to spot at least. Small consolation prize.

He wandered around the train for a bit until he found an open space. Then he decided to go through the pack on his back. He found one recognizable object from home and the rest just a repeat of what he was wearing. And the basic supplies. Nothing to tell him much except that he was meant to be here for a while. Great. He deftly put his item away into a jacket pocket and left the rest as is. Now there seemed like there was nothing left to do but wait and see what happened next.

III. Departure + Wild Card!

[[Garrett can be found slinking around the train trying to find a quiet, cozy space as far away from people as possible and crawling on walls in the larger carriages to view out the windows, get away, etc. Sadly, there are no air ducts for him to crawl into and hide. :c Come up with anything else or in between as you like! Oh, and before I forget: here is a link to his full arachne description page. Some pics down at the bottom, too.]]
