At home, Conan had claimed to be nearsighted.

But here, he had spent the first few weeks of his stay without any glasses at all. He couldn't claim that without explaining why he hadn't had any trouble seeing without his glasses.

"Not very bad," he says at last. "I can get by without glasses, but its easier to see things in the distance when I have them. It does take some getting used to, but as long you get a pair that fits you get used to it quickly."
