"That figures," Xander says, snorting just a little. He's more used to getting answers...but then again, he's also had the proper people to ask. Here, being such a recent passenger...he doesn't know who to ask.

That was a step up from the streets of Spectrum City, too. Xander knew enough about living on the streets that while there were places to get good food for cheap, because the proprietors were soft-hearted. Most of the time, the problem was getting the copper for it.
