"You did mention that. But I was wondering more how you're still alive. In my world the sun is a massive and extremely hot ball of gas. The light of the sun is made out of a portion of the radiation given off by the sun, in particular the electromagnetic wavelengths of infrared, visible and ultraviolet light. Even after the light has been filtered by the earth's atmosphere, the ultraviolet wavelength's of sunlight can have dangerous effects on health. Long term exposure has been known to cause skin cancer, premature aging of skin, immune suppression and eye diseases. Even overexposure in the short term can cause sunburn, snow blindness, and solar retinopathy."
