Who: Madoka, her new kitty (Maru/Sleepy Ash) and you!
When: Day 2 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Everywhere on the train
What: Madoka is very excited about her new cat. And also likely making very bad life decisions for herself here by making a contract with a vampire.
Warnings: Likely mentions of vampirism.

(note: threads will mostly be between madoka and your character, maru might randomly jump in to pipe up on some threads, you'll know if/when it happens!)

If you've seen Madoka going anywhere on the train since yesterday, you may have noticed something new about her. Namely the fact that she's dragging a tiny black cat with her everywhere she goes.

Right now she can be found with it in the dining carriage, where she's seated at the table not to eat, but to instead draw in her notebook. She keeps sneaking glances over at the cat as it's sleeping on the table next to her notebook though, and after a while Madoka can't take it and giggles as she gently boops his face with the not-sharp end of her pencil.

"So cute.. Who's the most adorable kitty around? It really is you..!" She's staring at the cat with so much endearment in her eyes, but that's the exact moment where she looks up and only then seems to notice you being there too. Madoka's face immediately grows pink with a blush.

"A--Ah, I'm sorry!" Because apparently she feels the need to apologize for gushing over her cat publically..

Or you may spot Madoka near the on board train shop. Apparently she's been using it, since the girl's arms are loaded with way too many chips for one tiny teenage girl to eat. There's six different bags in her arms, and the tiny black cat is precariously balanced on top of her head. It seems to be going well.. until one of the bags of chips slips out of her hands, falling onto the ground.

"Ah..!"

The girl is trying to pick it up, but it's a difficult process with her arms this full and her not wanting to disturb the sleeping cat on top of her head.. Someone please help the poor girl instead of watching her attempt to bend down and pick it up only to fail.

After a while she figures though that she should probably at least tell some people about the true nature of her kitty. It's going to be really awkward if someone sees him transform and freaks out about it in the middle of battle.. So while carrying the cat in her arms, Madoka makes her way through the train to try and look for people she's close to.

When she finds one of them, she'll offer a small smile and say: "Um.. Sorry, but do you maybe have a moment for me..?"

"It's totally not stealing if you find it lying there, dood! Universal rule! Finders keepers!" Which WAS something of a universal rule in demon society, because demons were just like that. "You--you should be lucky I'm not invoking the weeping part of it, dood!"

At least Madoka seems satisfied with - or at least tolerating of - the current level of intimidation, since there's no further protests from her towards Maru. Instead she just clasps her hands together. While making puppy eyes.

(It's not even something she's consciously doing, it's just a natural Madoka thing.)

"But.. you have to think of the poor person who lost the item too, you know..? They could be out there, all upset, maybe even crying! Just look at poor Maru here, he just really wants his things back!"

.. Yeah, 'poor Maru' who literally looks like he could beat up this bird in an instant.

Maru was very interested in beating the bird up. It's protests were annoying him. It was so bothersome... How could it get away with stealing a thing? Was that okay here? Stealing from each other? Somehow that didn't sound right.

But he was quiet and he decided to let Madoka do the talking because he if said anything more it would be to warn her before he wrapped his fingers around the things scrawny neck.

"W-well, doods --" The Prinny let go with one flipper, but not out of capitulation. Instead, it dove for its pouch, whipping out -- a long tray with numerous colored pegs stuck into it.

"For control of the pouch and its contents, I challenge you to Mastermind, dood!"

".. Mastermind?"

Apparently Madoka is very easily distracted. Either that, or - more likely - she's just so surprised by this turn of events that it takes up all of her attention all of a sudden. The last thing she expected is for the bird to pull out a game!

"Oh, I don't know if I'm very good at that though.." Does she realise it's not like she's obligated to play the game now? Maybe not, since her reaction seems very serious and sincere. "Can't you just give it back, and then maybe we can all play a game together for fun afterwards..?"

Being the Servamp of Sloth, Maru was generally a very laid back individual, to the point he would rather people make choices for him since doing it himself took time and energy and was just a bother.

However... He was finding he was losing patience here. Especially when some board was pulled out of somewhere.

Still he said nothing. But he was nearing the desire to just tear the thing off by it's flipper and punt it out into the void.

"...Can't you just give up on taking it from me, dood, and then we play a game together for fun?" It made as much sense as the girl's suggestion!

It's hard to tell whether it's something Madoka can actually feel through their bond or if it's something she can just tell by looking at the guy, but it does feel like Maru doesn't have a whole lot of patience for this anymore. And it's not that she doesn't understand - or try to, anyway - but she really doesn't want anyone to get hurt here.

".. I don't think Maru is very happy you took his bag."

It's a little more direct than before, but still not as direct as any other person would be. Because what she means by that is 'I'm pretty sure he's about to hurt you if you don't hand it over.' But this is Madoka trying to be as serious and determined as she can be.

"So please return it to him. I don't want something bad to happen." Unintentionally sounding like the cutest mafia boss.

Maru looked over at Madoka and blinked curiously. Was she basically giving him permission or was she just trying to be intimidating? Maru wasn't so sure.

But knowing what he knew about the girl he leaned more toward the latter. So he decided to do the same.

He turned back to look at the stupid bird and that bored, lazy, mildly irritated look changed as his lips pulled back and he growled, showing off a wickedly sharp pair of fangs he had no problems at all using on the bird. He was a cat, after all.

The Prinny went very still as the calculus of the situation changed, and then it slooowly let go of the bag.

"Just so you know? Taking something from someone under the threat of violence is totally robbery, dood. You could've said that from the start and spared us all this!"

"I was asking nicely..!"

At least it's not a lie, she's tried plenty of stuff up to this point! And even now she wasn't even trying to use violence as much as she was just trying to say Maru wouldn't be happy if the Prinny kept holding onto it.. But with Madoka being Madoka, of course she instantly feels a little guilty at the creature's words all the same.

"Um.. Maru.. Can you look inside to see if the bag is yours?"

Maru immediately dropped his intimidation routine for the usual look of boredom. When Madoka spoke he gave a nod and pulled the back closer, holding it with one hand he opened it with the other to look inside...

He blinked and then pulled out his switch and handed it to Madoka. "... That's mine." And then to prove it further he lifted a shirt to show his name was on the label 'Sleepy Ash'. "This is my things apparently." He'd never seen these clothes before but the switch was very much his. It even had the little dent on the side from where he'd dropped it after Mahiru had scared him with the vacuum.

"Right, dood, you asked me nicely to take something away that I found. That was never gonna work." Really, at this point, the Prinny had accepted its loss. "But not playing a fair game for ownership was pretty dirty, dood. I only would have cheated enough to be sure I won!"

This is wild. Madoka's just from slightly too early a time to ever have seen a switch, so she gives it a kind of amazed look as Maru hands it over to her. For a moment she's completely distracted by it, just turning it over in her hands as she looks it over.. but then she gives the cat boy a smile. "I'm glad you have it back then, Maru."

But then the Prinny speaks up again. And Madoka's brain needs just the slightest second to catch onto what feels so wrong about what he's saying, but then she realises--

"H-Hey! Cheating in a game is dirty too, you know..! Especially when you're trying to steal things that belong to someone else!"

"This is why birds a bad. No wonder cats eat them." Maru looked toward the Birdbrain and pulled his lips back with a flash of fanged teeth, irritated with the thing and idly wondering if they tasted as crappy as their personalities.

He reached to take his console back from Madoka to put into the bag, he closed it back up and slipped his bag back onto his shoulder.

"I AM a minion of the Overlord, dood. We're expected to uphold a certain standard, you know?" Luckily, as a Prinny, 'sucking' fell into that standard, so none of this would reflect too badly on it. "Well, you won this time. But my revenge will be not coming at all, doods, because I don't know how I'd get it."

"Ah.. Well, that's.. good?"

It even took a moment for her to realise the Prinny was saying it wasn't going to take revenge. But now she realises that, it is good. It's a relief. Not because she's worried about what it could do (it looks kind of cute, despite its half-rotten attitude..), but she just really doesn't want her kitty to get into a fight on this train if she can help it.

"Then we'll go now.."

Now that he had his things he was done with the Birdbrain. He turned to Madoka and gave her a small nod. "Yeah."

Going was good. He didn't want to be anywhere near the thing, it was annoying... and reminded him of someone unpleasant. He turned back toward the cabins and headed that way. He needed to get his things as far away from winged thieves as he could.
