Who: Duo and... whoever!
Where: Kitchen
When: Evening of Fiddlesticks, day 17
What: Duo and Kaito made marshmallows the day before. Duo is now making a hot chocolate!
Warnings: So much sweetness!

Duo was no cook. But what he could do he did damn well!

He'd learned how to make marshmallows just so he could teach the other Gundam Pilots the joys of hot chocolate with gooey marshmallows on top. There were also smores, but he didn't think anyone would appreciate him building a fire on the train.

So hot chocolate it had to be. The tray of marshmallows had been made and cut into cute, powdered squares. Mugs had been gathered and placed beside the tray. That just left Duo to make the hot chocolate.

In front of him was a large pan he was constantly stirring, a big, cheerful grin upon his face. Inside the pan was a deliciously chocolaty liquid slowly coming to the boil.

Wei Wuxian is very good at following his nose. And there is something...in the air...that draws him to the kitchen.

He peeks in and smiles when he sees Duo standing over the stove, and saunters over to peer into the pot - making sure to make just enough noise the other hopefully hears him.

"What is that going to be?"

Oh, Duo heard. Even over the sound of his own humming and the bubbling of the chocolate in the pan, he knew when he wasn't alone. So when a figure appeared at his side and peered over into the pan, Duo just grinned.

"Hot chocolate! Deliciously rich and indulgent hot chocolate. Perfect for cold, rainy nights... But since I've got no idea if it's night, cold or raining, I'm just making it anyway!" Because why the hell not?

He's wearing his blue uniform, mostly because it's cozy and he likes the color. But his hair is bound much like Duo's, just with red and white ribbons woven in. He links his hands behind his back, casually, and draws in a deeper breath of appreciation before letting it out in an admiring sound.

"Do you mind if I take some to a few people? A-Yuan would like it, and Lan Zhan should definitely try it." HE LOVES HIS FAMILY A LITTLE, OKAY

"Mm. Has Kaito tried this yet?"

"Kaito helped me make the marshmallows." Duo said with a laugh. While they'd made them and had hot chocolate, the marshmallows would have had to wait for a few hours to set. So he fully planned on taking a cup of freshly made hot chocolate complete with their marshmallows for his friend to enjoy.

He grinned and gestured to the mugs with his free hand. "Sure, man. Just grab as many as you need. There's more than enough to go around!" Duo had made sure of that. Whether there was enough for a 100 odd people he wasn't sure, but he didn't think everyone would notice what he was doing anyway.

"The what?" He lets his eyes stay wide, though there's a clear glimmer of humor.

He grins right back and frees his hands so he can bring them up and cup them before him in thanks. "You are very kind to do this for people!" Wuxian reaches for three mugs. "Do you want any help?"

So this train had taken him by surprise, but he was adapting fairly well, he'd like to say. The ins and outs seemed to be straightforward when he got on, and honestly, now, it was just making the best of it. Making friends. He met a few people at the introduction platform who at least seemed fun and he was feeling overall optimistic, but optimism meant nothing without results.

However, any deeper thoughts on the subject matter of his new life and friendship and taking every day a day at a time and whatever else are thrown right out the window when he ends up near the kitchen and smells something good!

Osomatsu slowly peeked into the kitchen, staring from the doorway, before he walked in. "Yo, bro~" He greeted, nonchalantly. "Issat chocolate? Issat for everyone? Because if it's not, can you make an exception? It smells really good! Please?"

"You know the way to a guy's heart." Kaito is sitting next to him, helping as needed.

Duo let go of the ladle long enough to grin and direct the guy to the large tray of neatly cut marshmallows. "Come try one." He gestured for him to come on over. The mugs and hot chocolate could wait. There was no way he was going to miss out on an opportunity to show someone the sweet goodness that was a marshmallow.

"If you like it, we can put some in the hot chocolate!"

Duo laughed, his grin was wide and cheerful and purely genuine. He was having a really good time. "Don't worry. I'll only use this power for good." He winked and grabbed one of the mugs to ladle in some of the rich, dark liquid into it.

"Here you go. Think you can add your own marshmallows?"

"Huh? Yeah, just grab a mug!" Duo nodded toward the pile of them he'd taken out just for this occasion, to save people having to search around for one.

"Making it for everyone who wants it. At least until it runs out." And since the pan was pretty much full, he didn't think it'd be running out any time soon. So Duo was very happy to share.

"With such great power, I fear for you"

Kaito intones gravely and then salutes him with the mug and grins.

"That, I can do. Where'd you learn the recipe?"

He could use Najaran's fire.... Just saying.

Najran had been.... busy.... the day before. So today was for introducing Gooligan to the train and all her new friends. And where better to start than the kitchen.

Duo would probably hear her voice before she came into sight.

"And if the sign is right, this is the kitchen!" she was saying to someone. "We just fought all these weird sea creature things, and it turns out they're really yummy, so we have all sorts of good food now, not just onions. Oh! And there is a lot of bacon now too..."

A gruff male voice cut hers off. "Don't you ever stop thinking about your stomach? Or have you forgotten that we have a mission, Najaran?" he scolded.

She sighed. "Oh you need to stop worrying and... Oh! Duo!" she said, happily seeing him. "What is that? It smells wonderful!" she headed over, all but bouncing. She was now wearing a wide leather and metal belt, her card pouch dangling from the back. In her hand was a walking stick with the face of a man on the top front, his pate bald, but a long mustache dripped from under his nose.

Yesssss chocolate, score. Osomatsu took a mug cheerfully.

"That's super nice of you! Thank you!!!" Obviously, they'd just met, but he immediately liked this guy because, uh, free chocolate. Free food or drinks usually meant someone was worth trusting immediately, unless they were poisoned, and that was rare anyway. "Is this a special occasion or something? Or ya just felt it?"

Duo was singing softly to himself when Najaran entered the kitchen. Cheerfully he stirred the hot chocolate, thick and rich and he was sure would be delicious. He was debating taste testing a little when his name was called.

He stopped singing and looked up, a smile spreading across his face when he recognised the voice. "Hot chocolate~" He sang happily and laughed. He turned fully now and his laughter died a little, replaced by a very puzzled look at what she was carrying. It took him all of two seconds for it to click what, and who, it was. "Uh, hi... Gooligan? Right?"

"You know of me?" the cane asked, startled. And oddly, he seemed a little afraid.

"Of course he knows about you," Najaran said, leaning closer to get a better look at what Duo was doing. "I told him about you. He's a friend, he's fine."

"Oh. Well then," he said, calming some.

"After all, you're useful," Najaran continued as she contemplated grabbing a spoon so she could steal a taste. "And you were missing. I had to explain why I kept having to figure out things like stirring laundry without you somehow...."

He drooped. "Najaran...." he said, sounding dejected.

She tossed a quick wink at Duo while the staff was looking down.

Duo listened to the exchange and absently reached out to gently bop the girl on the top of her head when she leaned over his hot chocolate. He flashed her a grin and pointed toward the mugs on the counter.

"So you're the guy she's been talking about, huh? Name's Duo. Nice to meet ya." He said with a wide smile, but then he eyed the talking stick curiously.

"Do you eat?" No point in making a cup for the guy if he couldn't even enjoy it.

"Hey, Naja? Grab a mug for me as well, will ya?"

"Where else? The internet!" Duo was grinning as he watched Kaito. Most of the things he'd learned to cook had been a quick internet search away. He couldn't really say he had anything in the way of parental figures who were nice enough to share family recipes.

"I've tried them, they came out pretty good!" He was just glad that the store room was stocked well with many different ingredients. "Maybe next time I'll make some with different flavours...?"

"No problem, man." Duo held out his hand for the mug and, once he had it, he brought it to the pan to ladle some of the hot chocolate into it.

"No special occasion. A friend was in need so I made marshmallows and then figured I'd make a load of em. Then realised I needed hot chocolate so figured, why make just enough for two when I can make some for everyone?" He flashed a grin. "Surprising how few people have had hot chocolate with marshmallows."

"Ah the internet! Repository of man's greatest treasure and trash!" He grins. "We could try adding fruit or nuts, maybe. Make it into a rocky road?"

She nodded and fetched three mugs with her free hand, even as Goligan answered.

"When Najaran is around, who else ever gets to eat?"

"HEY!" she protested, setting the mugs down where Duo could reach them.

"Hey now, that's unfair." Duo scolded the stick, but there was a smile playing upon his lips as he reached for the mugs to pull them closer. "Sometimes she misses something~" He continued and finally the smile blossomed and he started to laugh as he ladled hot chocolate into the mugs.

Of course he was teasing. Mostly. She did eat enough for several people, how she remained so trim Duo had no idea. But she never ate everything, there was always something left over for those who also might eat.

Mugs filled, Duo took two and moved them toward the tray of marshmallows. "You guys want a couple of these in your drink? They're mostly sugar and melt into a delicious gooey mess!"

"Hey! No fair ganging up on me!" she protested.

"Thank you," Goligan said. Did he sound a bit smug? Perhaps. One side of his mustache moved and wrapped around the handle of one of the mugs, lifting it. Najaran grumbled at them both as she grabbed a mug and started putting marshmallows in. One for Goligan, three for herself. Just for the teasing.

Duo laughed some more and held up his hands in surrender. "Sorry, sorry! Only joking. You're a very delicate eater and never take more than your share." He said with a wide, playful grin.

He took his own mug and reached for the marshmallows and dropped two in his cup.

She rested Goligan against the counter so she had her hands free while he drank. She balled up a napkin and threw it at Duo. "Watch it or I'll eat all the yummy looking squares just to prove that normally I wouldn't!"

"And in Najaran's head, I am certain that made sense," Goligan said dryly.

Duo caught the balled up napkin after it bounced off of his shoulder and grinned. "I think even you'd baulk at at eating all the marshmallows. It's just pure sugar. Think even you'd get a stomach ache." But he didn't really want her to try and prove him wrong. She had a stubborn streak a mile wide and she would try and prove him wrong... and then he'd feel guilty as hell when she got sick from it.

He nodded to the drink. "Try it though. Lemme know what you think. There's more if you guys want it. I've made a lot for everyone."
