Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

It felt good. Everything about this night felt perfect. He had so many fun friends and then there was and hopefully always would be, Gladio. He made this train magic. Before long the train was going to figure out how to give them a car that helped Gladio feel like he was out in the wilderness like home and he was going to have chocobos to ride around on. He didn't know how this was going to happen, but hey, he didn't think they'd get a garden and a movie theater either.

After dancing their own pace through the upbeat song, he was once again treated with slow dancing with his Big Guy. It was just as fun as the first but the best foreplay for what happened afterward in their room. Snuggled up with muscular arms arm him, he was sure they'd found paradise.

I am going to be making a list of things to ask for the train. I mean I already asked for a couple of things for other people after all.

He is stressed because he does not need these gay thoughts right now, Prompto! He has a boyfriend! .. Until the end of tonight, but still!

"N.. No, I'm okay!" He does not sound okay, but it's just in Inigo's nature to say that regardless of his actual level of okay. He's okay. He has to be okay. Even with his face as red as it is right now. "Don't you think your boyfriend might just murder me if he'd see that though?!"

Gladio may be a nice guy, but who knows how he'd take to that! Even if Prompto didn't mean anything by it, Naga knows what it might look like to others!

At least Madoka doesn't look weirded out in the slightest to be called 'miss'.. mostly since it's being done by someone younger than her. That makes sense to her! So her gaze only momentarily slides from the girl to Maru before nodding.

"Of course that's alright!"

How could Madoka ever say no to anyone, let alone such a sweet-looking little girl? She even curtsied, that's so cute!

"It's very nice to meet you," she says to Alice, quickly bowing before uprighting herself again. "And.. um, do you mean my hair..? Thank you, it's always been this way.." She self-consciously touches one of her ponytails, but still offers Alice a smile. "Your hair looks really nice too though, it suits you!"

"Oh wow...you were able to stop a war? That's amazing." She tilted her head a bit. "But why won't you get to see the peace treaties signed? Because you're here?"

He'd be so flattered if he wasn't so clueless!

He wasn't sure if he believed his friend or not as he stammered and continued to look so flustered. Wow, he really broke his poor friend's brain didn't he? It was kind of funny but also he was worried this wasn't at all funny to Inigo.

"No? He trusts me. I wasn't making out with you, silly!" He shook his head. "Okay, okay. Look, just like this okay? I'm behaving now!" He kept his hands to himself this time but just bobbed from one foot to the other, swaying to the beat. "Does this feel more comfortable?"

Wen Qing just smiled, as pleased as she was unsurprised by that answer. Of course Lightning would understand. "I knew you would," she said quietly and took another sip from her drink. "If... when your sister shows up, I hope to meet her, too, and I will do my best to win her approval."

Gaining the approval of Lightning's family, that felt far more important than just being liked by a friend's relatives. This was important.

She ducked her head, finding her glass suddenly very interesting. "I would wish her to think that you have made the right choice by spending your time with me."

"So much better."

Yes, it didn't seem as funny to Inigo. If anything, it more seemed mortifying. That moment just now was just the combination of a few too many things at once that make Inigo want to nope out of existence forever. But there's no touching his hips now, which is helping a lot. And sure, the dancing is still.. a thing that exists.. but he'll try to live with it.

Especially since just swaying to the beat is a lot easier than actual dancing. This isn't as embarrassing.

"Your world is a strange place, Prompto." Where people dance while touching each other's hips! What happened to good old medieval traditions of keeping a spot for ~~Jesus~~ Naga between, huh?

[ oh lord here we go ]

First of all, I'd make things more fun around here! It's so boring being stuck on the train all the time and the only time we stop are for missions or for hanging around that boring old train station! So, instead of stopping just for missions, I'd arrange things so that every other stop was just leisure time for us to leave the train and have some fun! Don't you think we've earned that, with all the hard work we've been doing on missions?

If the beach day has proved anything, it's that Alice sucks at leisure. At least she can understand it is a good thing to most people though, so that idea sounds like one of the less wild and bad ones Bryn has had so far.

.. Although. Since it's Bryn.. ]

What exactly would you consider a good place to have fun?

He had a guilty look on his face behind the attempts at smiling like it was no big deal. He didn't like that he'd upset Inigo. The other boy might be cute when he was flustered, but that had been more than a little flustered.

"I'm sorry." He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm used to it just being Gladio, Noct, and Iggy. We had a couple dances in school but like.. I don't know. It probably is a strange place!" How would he know? It seemed normal to him but, he also knew he wasn't exactly 'normal' either. "What are dances like where you're from?"

"It's nice to meet you as well," she curtsied in greeting. "Mr. Maru said you're very fond of making friends, and well... I... don't have many here." Unless she had the adults as friends. She really SHOULD ask how one knows they're friends with adults.

"And yes, you have very lovely hair, Miss Madoka. And thank you," she blushed lightly. She got so few compliments on how she looked.

See, this is already one of the main differences. There's no school, let alone school dances! So the idea of there being some sort of school (?) dance (?) where people dance that intimately (???) is enough to blow Inigo's mind.

But he at least does bother to ask the question, despite all the question marks appearing in his own head.

"I don't know.." Well, he does know what they're like, but he doesn't even know where to start to describe the differences when dancing in Prompto's world is so.. so!! You know!

"It's not as if it's uncommon to dance together, but it also tends to be more of a solo thing. Most of my mother's dances were like that."

Prompto frowned watching that confused face. He needed to get a better idea of Inigo's world so he knew how to phrase things. Wait, hadn't his buddy told him before? Kings, dragons, traveling, swords.. yeah, all very modern things. He didn't know what the issue was! Oh.. but he was confused by his camera that one time... hm.

"How do you dance together and be a solo thing?" He was confused. "Your mother was a dancer?" His interest was piqued immediately. His eyes widened a bit, loving any story about families. He technically had one but it felt so different ever since he'd learned the truth about himself. Not only that but his foster family (what he was mentally calling them now) had been gone so often. "What was that like? She- I mean. What was she like?"

"Sometimes we dance together, but that's more.. That is like ballroom dancing, it's different!" And also still different from Prompto's whole hips don't lie dance over here!

But since his world's way of dancing is really difficult to explain without a demonstration - and that's something Inigo really doesn't want to tackle right now with so many people around, thanks! - he's grateful for the topic change. Talking about his mother is at least way easier, even though it makes some place in his heart hurt at the same time.

"But my mother.. um.. Well, she is the most amazing woman I know." Was, technically, but he's trying to gently shove that fact under the rug here.. "She is honestly so beautiful, with long flowing pink hair.. Not to mention she's such a skilled dancer, and also very humble and kind to absolutely everyone she meets. Mother would never look down on anyone. She may be a little shy sometimes, but.. she has so much love to give."

Does that sound like a certain someone? Yeah, Inigo may be taking just a bit too much after one parent...

Okay, Xander has to laugh, then, but it's not malicious in the slightest. Almost joyful. Because really, that's not even near the top of his 'list of problems' at this party. The biggest one he thought he'd encounter was getting Alice there.

"It's okay. It's easy to fake it, and I'll help you. We can even start with a dance I do know how to do--though that kind of depends on the music. Otherwise, it's just kind of moving with the beat. It's not like I've ever been to a lot of dances in my time, either. I'm pretty sure no one here is gonna judge either of us."

And, well, if they did, Xander sure didn't care about any of that. It was a party! They were there to have fun, weren't they??

In any case, he held a hand out to her, smiling now, eyes bright. "Come on, if you look silly, I'll be right there with you, doing the same thing, so it'll be hard for anyone else to tell if it's intentional or just an accident! We can fake it 'til we make it! And hopefully have fun doing it, right?"

"Oh... well we do ballroom dancing too.. sometimes. Some people do. Gladio does, I think. You know Iggy does!" Could he pull it off? He wasn't sure. He'd had a lesson or two but he hadn't been paying the best attention. He never thought he'd use it in the future so why should he?

Prompto's focus was glued to Inigo hearing about his mother. It was easy to picture someone with Inigo's good looks and it was amusing how similar that description was to who Prompto knew his friend was. "Are you looking forward to seeing her when you go home?"

"... You know I didn't just meet him and fall into bed with him, right?" Gladio asked with a smile. "We were friends before he started getting special treatment."

And even then, Gladio still thought of Prompto as a friend as well as a lover. He still teased him. Nothing had changed about that. It was just now he could get away with kissing the hell outta him as well!

Alice is still so unsure about this, no matter what he's saying. But then he just gives her a look with those eyes, and that smile, and.. she's so weak. It feels so hard to say no to that, unless the situation would absolutely require it. How is Xander's smile that powerful, huh? This boy was born to be a con artist!

So after the slightest moment of hesitation, she reaches out to grasp the hand he's offering her.

"If anyone laughs at us, I will murder them."

Is that a joke? Or is that 100% genuinely meant? It's always hard to tell with Alice, isn't it.. It's most likely just the way her tsun chooses to expresses itself in a situation like this.

At least she does seem in for the dance, since she's already taking a step away from the table she had been wallflowering next to.

That question, maybe surprisingly enough, makes Inigo go quiet for a moment. His movements slow down too until he just stills. Apparently it's more impactful than Prompto meant it to be - or Inigo just has to think about it for a moment, just has to really let that question dawn upon him, like it's something he hasn't thought about very much yet.

".. yes," he then answers. Inigo smiles softly. "I've really missed her."

Both here in this place, but also back in his own future, where she's been dead for so long. Thank god the former meaning being obvious means he doesn't have to reveal the latter.

The way Inigo answered had Prompto's heart melting. What a lucky woman to have such a devoted son! He hoped she knew, wherever she was how great Inigo was. He could see it, so he could only imagine she'd see it too.

Feeling overcome with warm, happy emotions, he stepped forward and pulled Inigo into a hug. He didn't make it last too long, but just a friendly 'I think you rock, bro' kinda hug. You know the kind, right?

"Come on, let's go get something to toast her with."

"Well, I had help." Duo grinned. Lots and lots of help. But he was pretty sure it was him and the other Gundam Pilots who had made the difference.

"Yeah, I'm here. Not there. Who knows how time works back home? Could still be moving ahead without me, could be on pause waiting for me to come back, no idea." And it bothered him that he didn't know, but what could he do about that?

"Yes, but he is getting special treatment now, isn't he? Oh, to be that lucky..!"

Inigo sighs. Dramatically.

And then just about two seconds later his two braincells finally catch onto what that could have sounded like, and the blush that only just left his face is back. Once again.

"-- Lucky to not get teased, I mean! Sweet Naga! I'm just going to stop talking. No more words from me."

She nodded a bit. "That's true." It was something she worried about herself, thinking about how things were going back home. "But even if you don't get to see the peace treaties signed, you'll get to see them acted out whenever you go back?"

Maru felt oddly happy, and maybe even a small amount of smug, to have introduced the two after Madoka had been telling him he should make friends. He was getting her to make friends. A twist that not even he had ever imagined would happen.

He looked from one to the other. Pink hair and really, really blonde. His was light blue. He looked around the party and realised... there were a lot more strange hair colours than normal. How had he never noticed that before? Strange.
