Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

Aziraphale raises his brows at the answer. Yes, perhaps it would be safer to not drink random bottles of mysterious liquid.

"That sounds rather...bothersome." He'll just put it like that.

Part of the fun of finding out things like that is the adventure! So I'd just pick somewhere we didn't know all that much about yet and set everyone out exploring!

"You don't..?"

Madoka looks the tiniest bit surprised. Alice seems like such a polite girl for her age! Wouldn't people be lining up to become her friend? At least now Madoka is here to fix this!

"In that case.. of course we can be friends, Alice! I would love that. And.. Maru is already your friend too, right?

She glances between the girl and the boy. That's why he's introducing them, right? Because he made a friend for once! She's so proud of him!

"That means you already have a few!"

"The you in the mirror isn't you? That is the first time I had heard that," Glorfindel said. "Though, what you say is true."

He smiled at the last bit. "You wouldn't get much done, that's for sure. I know what I look like, why would I want to stare at someone who isn't me, now that I know he's a different person?" He paused for a moment. "Did the mirror you come to the Train too?"

"My schedule is remarkably free, so any time. You strike me as someone both smart and good with your hands, so I'm sure you won't have any trouble learning," Glorfindel said with another smile.

"Sometimes it's nice to change things up. Or, at the least, to have the options to do so if you want to. You may still continue with the single braid, but having the option means you do so out of choice." His smile turned to a grin, here.

Glorfindel had to listen to it for a moment, before his body started moving to the beat. "It is faster paced that I am used to, but not impossible, I think."

"Am I right in that 'Awesome' is good?" he asked.

"My entire race is," Glorfindel said. "Which isn't to say that we can't die. I did myself, once." He realized he once again dropped that into casual conversation. He was trying to get away from his reputation, not encourage it to follow him around.

He focused on the lovely person in front of him. "You don't have a place to keep the things you like? That is very sad. Everyone should have a place to call home," Glorfindel said. Though he did sympathise as he was going to be leaving the place he'd called home for so long when he got back to his own world.

Glorfindel took a deep breath to maintain his own smile at the story his date told him. Slavery was not acceptable among elves, at all. But the fault was not on the victim, so it would do no good to get angry at the man who had done such a cruel act. Not only the attempt to sell him, but betrayal of this lovely person's trust.

"Not on a first date, certainly," Glorfindel agreed. The fangs were actually kind of cute, though he had recognized the emotion was not. "Let us talk of more pleasant things today, and...maybe we can meet another time to discuss things that life has thrown at us to make our lives more complicated?"

He would start. "Do you have a favorite color? Mine is gold or yellow."

Anyway, I should probably actually go and get a costume, if there's any left that'll fit. So I'll be back in a bit, OK?

With a laugh, she takes his hand and grins right back.

"When I step on your shoes, you're going to regret this. Might be enough to put you off teaching me anything else."

Alice makes an expression that seems to say she agrees, though she does add: "Worse has happened."

Quite literally. But that's definitely something she doesn't want to talk about, so she quickly - and awkwardly, because how does anyone do this whole being social thing? Alice sure doesn't know! - moves on to something else.

"How are you.. enjoying the party? Most people present seem to be quite a bit younger than you." Oh Alice, if only you knew just how much younger. But to Alice this just seems like some random relatively (especially by Victorian standards, considering the terrible living conditions and all) old person.

[irrationally]

[ Help, she wants to get off miss Bryn's wild ride... ]

Ah. [ Doesn't that single sound just sound so.. full of excitement. So full of joy for life at the very thought of Bryn's plan.

She's even quiet for a slight moment after only saying that before she adds: ]

.. Well, you enjoy the party. [ SO SOCIABLE. ] I have to go.

Gladio's brows shot up and his grin was back, as soon as Inigo started to blush he burst out laughing. This kid... Was he aware of how cute he was? Though it was a shame his Foot In Mouth Syndrome seemed to be a terminal case.

"Oh damn... Inigo, you... really need to start thinking through what you're about to say before you say it!" He said once he'd finished laughing, but there was still a very cheerful tone to Gladio's voice. "And who the hell said Prompto doesn't get teased? I tease him all the time. Ask him some time."

[flatteries]

Almost as if he's trying to provide evidence that he truly doesn't think before he speaks, he does it.. yet again.. Though it honestly isn't on purpose!

"But that's so.. so hard! Are you telling me people think before they say anything? All the time? How aren't people getting headaches?!" (Maybe it'd help if he had more than two active braincells at any given time.)

.. At least Prompto might understand him. That guy feels a little more on Inigo's level.. Maybe it's why they get along so well. Although Gladio seems like a good guy too! But just.. way above him on the intelligence scale, apparently.

"I'll make sure to ask him about it though. Next time I see him! I'm going to confirm you aren't just trying to pull the wool over my eyes!"

"I... well, no," was that really so strange? "There are so many adults on the train... more adults than anyone else." And Alice wasn't sure someone her age could be friends with an adult.

"Are you a friend, Mr. Maru? Would you like to be?" she wanted to be sure.

"I don't think you need to go that far!" But Xander laughs again, despite knowing Alice is probably serious. Deadly serious. He's just banking on the fact that most of the other people will be too busy dancing and enjoying the party on their own to notice any goofs that either of them make.

Or so he hopes, anyway.

He won't take her hand unless she accepts his, though. Even if it's supposed to be a thing with waltzing. She might know it, but Alice is also averse to being touched, normally. Which Xander knows. So hey, he'll just fake it. That tends to be the way he operates lately. And he feels that so long as he's not actually hurting anyone, it's okay.

"So did you ever learn to waltz, back where you were? Or did that get skipped in all the chaos? Alex's foster mom taught me--mostly because I think she felt I needed some sort of refinement." Xander laughed at that, because he knew for a fact that when Rose had offered that to him, she hadn't meant it as an insult. And hey, he'd been curious anyway! It hadn't hurt anyone, after all--and it seemed to be a good idea here!

"They aren't!" she persisted. "They're your twin but identical twins aren't the same person. When you go through the looking glass, they're nowhere to be found, either, if they were you, when you went through, they should merely be on the other side you came from."

She gave a nod at his question.

"Oh yes, mirror me is here, your mirror you is here too. Mirror us's are much like our shadows."

[irrationally]

"I was too young for formal lessons back then," she quietly adds. Mostly since she doesn't want to draw too much attention to it. She trusts Xander with her story, but she much prefers listening to him talk about himself and where he's from rather than have to talk about her own circumstances. His own stories sound so much better. Despite how things started for him, things seem to have been so nice and lively for him back home recently. It all just sounds so simple. Xander needing waltzing lessons for refinement. It's adorable. "But I can follow your lead. Isn't that how it's supposed to go?"

.. Alice is pretty sure someone leading is part of those formal kinds of dances, anyway.. She may or may not have skipped out on mentally staying focused when her parents were talking to Lizzie about it in favour of daydreaming about other things..

"I don't know how much refinement you can expect from me though."

"There's that." Duo agreed cheerfully. "Might be nice to see a little peace in my lifetime." It was something he'd never experienced, actual peace. Duo wondered what it would look like.

Duo blinked up at the guy for a second, and then laughed. Smart and good with his hands? So much flattery. When was the last time anyone had said anything good about his skills? He honestly couldn't remember. Not that Glorfindel had any basis for his claims, but it was nice all the same.

"I like the way you think. So yeah, yeah I'm down to learn some new ways to style my hair. Just..." He lifted his hands and waved around the top of his head. "Nothing all piled up on here... Feels weird."

She smiled. "Here's hoping you get to see that, then."

Darn. He hadn't been paying close enough attention. They were both looking at him now... Maru looked between one and the other. Was he a friend? He thought about it for a moment before he turned and knelt down in front of the little blonde. Lifting a hand, he pushed the mask he was wearing up into his hair.

"... Yeah. I'd like that." What did her age matter? His was far beyond what he looked like. Friendship didn't have an age limit, did it? It seemed they were both in a kind of a bind when it came to friends. "If it's okay?"

"Fingers crossed!" Duo held up his crossed fingers to prove it and laughed.

Glorfindel threw his head back and laughed. "I will not hold your dancing against you when we do your hair, I promise. Unless you bite." He had helped raise generations of Dunedin ranger children, he had a lot of patience. Plus, if worse came to worse, he could heal himself. He'd only been knifed once while dancing, so she couldn't be that bad...

"We elves tend to save the updos for really fancy events. It looks stunning with a tiara," Glorfindel said with a straight face.
