Oh, this must be what they call a Match Made In Heaven. But Daia shakes his head, trying not to let his thoughts run away with him. There's still plenty this beautiful person could not be able to accept in Daia. Patience - he can't go confessing love right away. He doesn't even know this lovely gentleman's name.
"I like... curious things? Whenever I see something new, I just... want to know about it. Not necessarily everything about it, but I want to know what it does, what it's like. I'd collect them if I could afford them. ...Or had a place to put them." He laughs a little.
The downside to always running is never being able to collect those things. And even though he has a solid place here, the room is small, he couldn't possibly keep all the things he wants. Not to mention he'd probably have to abandon them if Kuro or the Hunters ever chased him here.
As for the follow up, he braces himself a little at the souring of memories.
"Before I came here, I kind of worked under an innkeeper. He let me stay for free. I... thought he was nice. But he was just waiting to sell me." His lips curl back as he feels his anger, baring his fangs a little. For the moment, he almost forgets this is supposed to be a date. He forces his lips to drop back down, but the frown doesn't go away.
"Sorry, I probably shouldn't talk about those things right now, especially when we're supposed to be enjoying ourselves."
