Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

... I hope I'm using those terms right. It's been hard trying to find out what slang is current and what makes me sound lame.

Oh, I'd be the worst person to ask for that! [ She titters to herself. ] We really don't use slang like that at all where I come from, so I'm not sure what would be outdated and what would be current...

[ She taps her chin thoughtfully. ]

But I suppose you could always just pretend that whatever slang you use is up to date where you're from!

That is... amazingly brilliant. I could say whatever nonsense I wanted and get away with it!

[ Bryn gives her a big ol' grin. ]

Don't worry about what anyone else might think of you! In a place like this, it's not like anyone can tell if you're strange or not.

[ They definitely can, Bryn. ]

Yeah! Since we're all from different worlds, we're already strange to each other - so it loops around to being from being so strange that it's not strange at all!

You could even have some fun with it! You could make up something truly ridiculous and run with it, and whenever anyone asks you a question, you just say "what? that's exactly how things are in my world"!

Well, we need to have some fun where we can, don't we? And it's not like playing around like that ends up hurting anyone. So it's a win-win for everyone!

Don't those usually grow back quite slowly, though? I've heard it can take several days, depending on the hydra...

Really? My experience, they're back lickety-split. Maybe it's a difference of worlds kinda thing.

What could cause such a big difference like that, I wonder?

Who knows? Maybe the same thing that populates my world with people like me, and not... folks like you.

But there's plenty of people like you in my world too? Well, not precisely the same, but I'm certain you wouldn't feel particularly out of place if you were to come visit.

Perhaps you just come from a world without humans?

I haven't seen any. But just because I haven't seen any, doesn't mean they don't exist! For all I know, maybe they have some secret underground colony we haven't discovered yet.

You know... where I come from, there are a tribe of elves who live underground – they prefer it greatly to living on the surface. Perhaps it's the same for the humans of your world?

See? Now it just makes me want to find them all the more. We haven't found elves either... they're usually just in video games.

So, hydra are quite common in your world but elves and humans are not? How strange!

[ Stranger than a dimension-hopping train, apparently, going by the look on her face. ]

Perhaps you'll have more luck tracking them down when you head back home, now you know what to look for.

I bet it's just a matter of time. I've got a whole lifetime ahead of me... Even longer, if I'm like my uncle Scrooge. Nobody's sure how old he really is.

How long is a lifetime for you, anyway?

Well, in my world, if you have a good diet, exercise, and take care of yourself, it's not impossible to get to one hundred, or close to it.

Aah, I see...

[ She folds her arms and nods to herself. It's got, uh, a vaguely condescending sort of air to it. ]

So not all that long, in the grand scheme of things.

[ Half-shrug. ]

Depends on what you compare it to. But it does make us make sure to appreciate what we have and what we can do in the time we get.

[ Nodding sagely. ]

I suppose you'd have to... still, though! It's quite interesting to think about all the differences and all the similarities between all our worlds. It really makes you wonder just what makes them the way they are!

And it makes me all the more determined to find out how and why!
