Party Time

[loveandduty]

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

"It would be lovely to learn! I'm sure it's not as simple as you think but I'd love to try." She beams up at him and gestures to her hair, tumbling halfway down her back.

"Do you need longer hair than mine is? I can do pretty much any length."

[laurefindil]

"You are a person of many talents for growing things, aren't you?" he teases her gently.

"But it can be any length, though at least to your shoulders. The more hair you have though, the more intricate you can get with the braids." He would love to get his hands on Rapunzel's hair, but that's such a personal thing, he could never just ask.

"When shall we do this?" he asked. "My schedule is pretty open, aside from a couple of lessons I'm taking."

[springforth]

"Spring is a season for growth." She flounces her hair with both hands, a smile bright for his teasing. It's good that she can do it with any length but the idea of something even more intricate is intimidating.

"I'll try for something on the simpler side first. Honestly, my schedule is equally open. Aside from actual chores, a lot of my time is--makework. Giving myself something to do so I don't go stir crazy."

[laurefindil]

"As do I," Glorfindel said. "Back where I came from I oversaw the protection of Imladris, a valley where refugees flowed in and out, as well as helping with the administrative duties, training those who were tasked with the protection, and various other duties." Like being the champion of the Valar and coordinating the defences of Middle Earth. Nothing of note, though.

"Right now I am definitely doing what I can to stay busy, so working you into my tight schedule is absolutely no problem whatsoever," he said with a grin. "And we can start simple and then let our imaginations go wild as you get a little practice under your belt. Shall we start tomorrow? Or wait a couple of days?" [Like until after the language event, lol]

"Oh whenever is easiest. A few days maybe? Give us time to get back into our routines, if you can call them that."

She's still reeling a little at that list of duties. And now he does...what? Help in the greenhouse? Do pretty things with his hair.

"You must be bored senseless if you're used to doing that much. I was in schooling when I left but even at my most busy, I was never looking after beings like that. It was all flowering fields and forests."

[laurefindil]

"Oh, very much so," Glorfindel said with a laugh. "But I am doing my best to stay busy so that I do not annoy others. This will be a big help, honestly."

"Flowering fields and forests sound lovely," he said wistfully, thinking of his childhood back in Aman.

"I'll look foward to it." In the meantime, the music was interesting and easy to dance to.

"I would have showed you that forest I made on that world with the shadows, if I had known you missed them so much."

She tucks her hands behind her, smiling, "Should I leave you to your dancing?"

[laurefindil]

"That would have been nice, but," he shrugged. "I will look forward to the next forest, then," he added with a smile.

"No!" Glorfindel said, smiling wider, "Dance with me?" Dancing was more fun with more people, especially with this strange lively music.

[springforth]

She doesn't mention that it was made mostly to prove a point to a stubborn book because she does have a reputation to keep up.

"I'm not a very good dancer, I'll warn you. I never had much chance or reason to learn."

[laurefindil]

Books should gain learning, definitely.

Then this music is perfect," Glorfindel said, offering her his hand. "After all, how are you going to get better at it if you don't do it?" he asked with a grin.

[springforth]

With a laugh, she takes his hand and grins right back.

"When I step on your shoes, you're going to regret this. Might be enough to put you off teaching me anything else."

[laurefindil]

Glorfindel threw his head back and laughed. "I will not hold your dancing against you when we do your hair, I promise. Unless you bite." He had helped raise generations of Dunedin ranger children, he had a lot of patience. Plus, if worse came to worse, he could heal himself. He'd only been knifed once while dancing, so she couldn't be that bad...

[springforth]

"Oh if you're getting bit while dancing, there's much larger problems at hand. I'm no threat to anything but your toes, promise." With a bright grin, she squeezes his hand, "I'll try to be a quick study."

Do we want to wrap? Or dance for a while? :)

"Yes, well, the young twins of Lord Elrond didn't want to learn, so there were definitely larger problems involved," he agreed.

With her grace, and his, he had no doubt this dance would go well, even if it didn't.

He squeezed her hand back and, when the musical moment presented itself, spun them into motion. "Look, we're dancing!"

Her expression is just about settled between sympathetic and amused. There are plenty of people she would put on that scale as children. And maybe adults.

The movement pulls a laugh from her and then a grin as she tries to follow him. As long as the steps stay simple, she picks it up easily. His toes--perhaps squashed once or twice, remain mostly unscathed.
