Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

Well, this is certainly a welcomed change. Aziraphale can't quite remember just how long it's been since he's been to any sort of party - certainly a good few decades since then -, and certainly never went to any in these particular conditions, but he's not one to complain. Not now, anyway, as he finds himself actually fairly well settled into this current adventure. Not ideal by any stretch, but at least far more comfortable.

He was delighted to find out about the theme for this function, and happily took the excuse to indulge in his outfit a bit. A tad. He figures the party won't be much of a formal affair, and certainly not one where this kind of fashion is required or even apt, but it is a masquerade.

He waits, then, at the end of the medical coach, by one of the corridor windows, watching those bright colors swirling outside the train. If he remembers correctly, it shouldn't take long until they give way to the endless darkness for the evening. His arms are crossed behind his back, mask held in one of his hands.

Crowley enters carefully, it's been a moment since they've been in heels this high, and it doesn't help traveling between moving train cars.  

"Evening, angel." they smirk, giving Aziraphale a once-over in his chosen attire. Crowley couldn't hide their smile, the frills reminding them of a certain incident in revolutionary France. 

"You look lovely."

Aziraphale turns when the coach door opens, smiling as he recognizes the figure. Crowley's always had quite an eye for fashion, keeping up with trends at an incredible speed, as far as the angel was considered. He's not quite sure where in fashion trends being in the train puts them, but he doesn't need to know that to see that Crowley continues to put great effort into their looks. 

"And you look stunning, my dear." He responds, noting the little red floral accents on their dress. "I believe the party's already underway."

Crowley smiles, not really able to hide the subtle blush on their cheeks as they close the distance between them. Hands smooth down the front of their gown to straighten it out, making sure they look well put together before making their entrance.

"Suppose we should head in then. Find something to drink."

Crowley's mask, too, mostly expectated in the way it covers their eyes, is quite beautiful in its delicate nature. Certainly something they miracle up themselves.

Speaking of masks, the angel holds up his own, a more solid piece, apparently meant to be held in place by a light colored cloth attached to either side. "Before we go in - could give me a hand with this, dear?"

"Yea, of course." they reply, circling around the angel, a movement Crowley is no stranger to.

Crowley waits for Aziraphale to place it where he likes, taking the ribbons into their hands and securing the mask behind his head in a bow, taking care to smooth his hair back behind it nicely. Once secured, Crowley completes their circle, arriving at the angel's left side, their usual placement.

"It's perfect. Shall we?"

"Thank you." As the mask is well settled, and the angel finds himself a bit more excited about this party, even when his expectations aren't that high.

He adjusts his vest and coat, smoothed out his cravat. "Right." He smiles up at Crowley and, in a show of his excellent gentlemany politeness, offers them his arm. "Off we go then."

Aziraphale offering his arm is so undeniably sweet that Crowley's expression softens instantly. They usually aren't one to display affections, but this is a formal affair. It's perfectly acceptable to show up, arms linked with a date, and perhaps even share a dance or two.  

Crowley takes the angel's arm without further hesitation, clutching it gently as they make their way into the next car.

Old manners, a formal affair, and perhaps simply a hint of fondness and a dash of excitement over the idea of attending a party together without having to make sure they aren't found by their former employers. Maybe it's just that Crowley's dress is lovely. It can be many things.

Aziraphale notes how much taller Crowley is in heels.

When they enter the party, it's quite clear that it isn't exactly all that of a formal affair - more of a juvenile attempt at one. But that's alright. There's just something about the mood in the air that makes it all very tolerable.

"What is that music?"

The party is charming, if only because Crowley isn't sure how much can be expected for a party in a gymnasium contained inside a train car. They would be a lot more charmed if it wasn't for the music playing. Crowley's smile immediately falls flat, almost to a scowl. 

"I don't actually know." they mutter in response,  squeezing lightly at the angel's arm. "Quick, let's find the alcohol."

Aziraphale looks mighty confused over the music, entirely unrecognizable to him, and rather clashing with the attire that was suggested for the event.

"Oh, yes." Distracted easily enough by the quest for alcohol, he steps through the area looking for the refreshments, keeping out of the dance floor. He can't help but to smile, though, there's just something in the air. A levity he hasn't felt in a while.

"Well, looks like everyone's having fun."

Crowley has quickly spotted the refreshments, dragging the angel along with them as they sort through what is available. 

"Yes, yes, all good fun." they mutter, picking up a bottle and sniffing at it to see if the notes of alcohol are present. "Help me look, angel... there's got to be wine somewhere. The spider reeked of it."

"The spider? The one from the dressing room?" He looks over the refreshments as he speaks, picking up one of the bottles to inspect the label and give it a sniff. It smells very sweet, and entirely unnatural. And definitely not alcoholic.

"Do spiders drink wine?"

"Yup." Crowley replies nonchalantly, picking up another bottle to inspect. "That one does...Aha!" 

Crowley passes the newly discovered beverage to Aziraphale to sniff. They're pretty sure it's alcoholic. Not sure what it is, but if it gets them drunk, they won't complain.

Aziraphale takes a whiff of the drink, for a moment furrowing his brow in slight confusion. It certainly isn't a Grand Cru....but it also doesn't smell of dirty water and radishes, so, hey, he'll take it.

"It's beginning to sound like you've maybe made a friend." He finds a couple of glasses, pouring them one each.

The demon reaches for their glass, swirling it in their hand. There's a slight smirk on Crowley's lips as a result of the angel's teasing.

"Are you jealous?" they ask, lifting their glass to their lips. They take a modest sip, tasting their beverage. It's not terrible, considering what they had before, Crowley's rather delighted by it.

"Oh, terribly so." All said in a gentle posh scoff and a furrow of the brow, discarded easily for a little smirk as he tastes the drink as well. Not something he'd reach for on a nice evening, but an improvement over their last experience.

"Might have to find myself an eight legged creature to befriend as well."

Crowley chuckles into their drink, taking another sip, this time braver. 

"I'm certain you'd get along swimmingly." they reply, arm still clutching to Aziraphale's. "Especially considering you seem to charm everyone you speak to." Crowley is of course thinking of strangers that the angel had apparently left an impression on in only their first day of this new adventure.

"Do I?" Of course, the angel works hard to be charming and polite presence, has always been, whether that's his personal nature or due to being an angel is something that could be discussed for days.

Crowley rolls their eyes, but whether or not it's apparent through their mask is another thing.

"Oh, yes." they begin, "Men around the train tell me you have a lovely smile." 

Crowley's tone is teasing, a bit of a play-accent coming through over the last two words, but they take a rather large sip of their drink before continuing. "Perhaps I should be jealous."

For a moment, Aziraphale can't tell if he should be flattered or if Crowley's just joking.

"Oh, don't be silly." Even though all they're doing is being silly - well, mostly, anyway. "Barely had any time to have a conversation with anyone that isn't about this train. Although people do seem quite eager to help newcomers."

"I'm not!" Crowley replies defensively, fingers digging gently into his arm. "Buf they're right, you know." 

The last part is said into their glass again, nearly drowned out as they take another sip.

Aziraphale catches that last part, though he hesitates in saying something. Instead, he takes to having another drink, hiding away a little smile.

But, as he does, he spots food on another nearby table, which definitely catches his attention. "Oh- it looks like they went for some more...domestic catering styles."

As Crowley finishes off their drink, they take a glance at what the angel is referring to, noting the food across the way. 

"Why don't we refresh our glasses and take a closer look, hmm?" They ask, already setting their glass down to grab the bottle again, topping themselves off. It's offered to Aziraphale as well.

Aziraphale holds up his glass with a polite thank you, heading off towards the table when that's done.

He eyes over the food, though, he looks rather doubtful about some of the overcooked and undercooked (and some even both) items.

"Ah, looks like they had a bit of trouble."
