Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

OOC: Examples of the type of outfits and such can be found here: costumes and
masks]

He's realised he's embarrassed Ingio a bit and feels a little guilty. But not so much because he was telling the truth. Inigo is a good dancer and he is sure that he takes after his mother in such a way.

In more than just that, he realises as Inigo keeps talking. Because Inigo was like that as well, kind, gentle and with an ability to make people feel cared for just by being there.

"That must mean they married just for love, it is good to hear." Almost like an old fairy tale. In a world where nobility came through bloodlines. Where people inherited kingdoms and marriage was often political. So to marry for love in such a situation, their love must have been strong indeed.

"She sounds like a really amazing person."

"She's the most amazing woman I've ever known."

There's no hesitation about those words whatsoever. It's just the truth. It'd take a lot for anyone to beat his mother in that department. His memory of her has only grown more and more fond the longer she's been dead.

Briefly he contemplates asking Taiki about his parents, but then he remembers the fact Taiki is like a magical pegasus-transforming boy. Do those even have parents? To not even start about the fact that apparently animals grow from trees where he's from? Maybe it's an offensive thing to ask people from that world. Or a weird thing. He decides to for once do the smart thing and just not ask.

"I, uh.. I think I'm a little like my mother. Not a lot, obviously, since it'd be hard for anyone to be on her level. But I'm definitely a lot more like her than like my father."

She sounds amazing and he's glad that Inigo had such an amazing person in his life. He nods when he says he thinks he's a little like his mother. "It sounds it. You seem to take after her a lot. We have a lot to thank her for if your kindness comes from her."

He knows nothing about Inigo's father and he wonders about asking, but isn't sure if it will make Inigo sad, when currently he seems happy thinking about his mother.
flatteries: (doesn't it almost feel like)

His kindness definitely comes from her, he thinks. Every good thing about him - not that there are many, but he tries to have at least some good traits - is all because of her.

"Maybe she will show up here one day." It's not completely impossible, after all. This train has taken all sorts of people here, and it's not as if he hasn't met a still living version of his mother already who could be taken here.

Part of him hates the idea, hates his mother being near more danger, but on the other hand.. he misses her so much. He'd give the world just to be able to see her again.

"She has bright pink hair. It'd be hard to miss her between everyone else on the platform. Then you could thank her in person."

"One day I might." He smiles at him. It's strange to think that anyone from their world could turn up. People they knew. People he had known on earth, not that they would even recognise him outside of his taika shell. People from Tai... Anyone at all.

Inigo seems happy about the idea his mother could turn up. So Taiki keeps smiling even as he keeps dancing.

"It'd be nice.. She's so sweet. I'm sure she would love you."

After all, Taiki is also so sweet. Not to mention that he's so polite and kind, what's not to love about him? The other deserves so much love, and the more people there are to give it to him, the better.

"So.. how about it? Are you feeling less nervous about dancing now you're not thinking too much about it?"

He wasn't sure about that. She would probably find him weird and awkward. But then again she would likely be kind regardless, much like her son.

He nods at the question though. "Yes, you are a very good teacher."

He isn't worried so much about stepping on his feet anymore at least.

Inigo blushes at the compliment. He really likes the sound of that. Maybe he will try to become a dance teacher one day, when all of the mess with the war in his world is sorted out. That'd be nice.

"If you think so, then you should honour my lessons by dancing with someone else tonight too." He's trying really hard to keep a good balance here - he wants to at least try and get Taiki out of his lonely safe space a bit, but doesn't want to make him too uncomfortable either. It's a delicate balance with someone as gentle and soft as Taiki.. "Surely there has to be another one of your friends present at the party right now. You should dance with them."

"Um..." He looks terrified at the concept of that, he glances around. He doesn't have many friends. He knows a few people but he is sure none of them will want to dance with him.

"I... I don't want to bother them, I'm still not very good after all."

He doesn't want to insult Inigo though! "I mean... Not that your lessons aren't good, I am better than I was before you taught me..."
flatteries: (a rhythm for the songs)

Oh geez, why does it always feel like he's throwing a puppy out to the wolves whenever he even suggests that Taiki should be the slightest bit social.. Inigo feels instantly guilty at the fear he spots on the other's face.

At least he doesn't feel insulted though. He can see the reason as to why Taiki might not like the idea of dancing with anyone else.

"You would never bother anyone, Taiki. Your presence is a blessing upon any social situation." It sounds a little over the top, like one of the dramatic compliments Inigo may hand out from time to time.. But he means this one. Very sincerely. "Anyone who would be asked to dance by you would feel honoured, I'm sure."

He just looks down. Inigo is wrong, though Taiki knows he is only trying to be nice. Still that was Inigo all over. Always giving dramatic compliments. Taiki never knew how to take them.

So he settled on silence as continued dancing, focusing on the music and the steps. Now that he had the basics of it he found it quite fun. Even as he felt guilt at the same time, the same guilt he felt whenever he felt himself relaxing here.

Still he doesn't pull away, he wouldn't do that to Inigo but instead continues dancing until the music ends.
flatteries: (i don't know how to word it)

[personal profile] flatteries 2020-07-01 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Thankfully the upside is that Inigo is very much used to the way Taiki takes his compliments by now, and so he doesn't take it personally, or assume he's doing something wrong.

But it still feels bad. Inigo really wishes there was some way he could get through to the other one day. That Taiki could smile and truly, genuinely accept a compliment in a way that made it obvious he himself believed in it too. (Inigo isn't too sure he can rest until that day, honestly.)

But he keeps on dancing until the song is over. Briefly he considers going for another song, but.. just this one must have taken enough out of the other. Inigo stops moving, making sure to keep the smile on his face.

"Dancing with you was nice." Taiki might not be good at taking compliments, but that doesn't mean Inigo isn't going to remind him of how great he is at every! available! opportunity! "But I don't want to overwhelm you right now. How about we try this again at the next party?"

He smiled back, "Yes, thank you for teaching me." He nodded, glad that Inigo was going to let him go back to not dancing for now.

It had been fun, he really had liked dancing with Inigo but he's not sure he could continue much past one song. He's happy to go back to watching for the time being.

"I'd like that."

The people on this train seemed to enjoy parties so he didn't doubt there would be another at some point.
