[Closed] Time to talk

Who: Taiki and various people (Wen Qing, Sarai and Gyousou, Tidus and Inigo)
Where: Various carriages (see threads)
When: Fiddlesticks latter half, after Wester's ICP post
What: Taiki takes Wen Qing food in the med bay. Taiki speaks to Sarai about current events. Probably the next day Tidus decides to teach Taiki and Inigo to play badminton.
Warnings: Mentions of murder and torture though nothing will be graphic or detailed. Individual threads might have more warnings than that.

For Wen Qing (and anyone else in medbay)

He had spent a good few hours wandering the corridors, helping those he could and trying to do things to make anything better.

Of course he can't actually make anything actually better. It is beyond him. But he can try and help people through it. For a creature who so despises blood and violence he has seen far more than his fair share of it. He is not innocent in any sense of the word.

So he helps and listens until his heart feels like it has been cut into a hundred pieces and still he continues because sometimes there is very little that can be done except listen to a person's pain.

He had stayed out of the way of the medical bay, knowing that there at least he would be more a hinderance than a help. But as the hours ticked by he went to the kitchen and began preparing some simple food.

Nothing too difficult or time consuming to eat. Nothing too heavy. He made green tea to go with it and carefully carried it back to the medical carriage.

He looked through the door before knocking, not wanting to disturb her if she was in the middle of something delicate. But then gently knocked.

Standard: For Gyousou and Sarai

It had been a long day and finally Taiki had found his way to Gyousou's side where his king sat in the standard coach. They were sat at one of the table seats, the book Creatures of the Void open between them as they made notes in their notebooks.

They might just be myths and legends but it was more than the nothing of information they had about anything else.

Taiki was struggling to concentrate though often just staring blankly at the page, not reading at all.

The next day: Standard again!

Even with everything else going on Taiki hadn't forgotten about Inigo and his friend's own pain. He made an effort to seek him out and spend time with him.

Quite nervously he had asked if Ingio would mind if he painted him and was surprised when Inigo had agreed. Even more surprised when it seemed Ingio was good at modeling.

Then again he was a prince, it was perhaps not that surprising. He must have had to sit for paintings before.

They were sat either side of a table, Taiki's art case open in front of him, a piece of paper he had borrowed from the printer in front of him, the start of a portrait.

Inigo is acting like...a giddy blitzball fangirl!

It's so bewildering to watch, and Tidus (if the guy looks his way to check) has the courtesy to act like he didn't catch the raise of the racquet to Inigo's face, the colour of his cheeks. But wow, wow! There's definitely a story there. Not a story he should be poking at any time soon, but...!

Maybe he should poke it later...

"Well," he says, not so lost within potential future endeavours to be distracted by reality, "that's 'cause Taiki's gonna come with you to keep playing badminton with me! Once, two times a week? Just like this!"

He spreads out his arms and hands, racquet still held, smiling brightly as he regards each of them.

"What do you think?" But to Taiki in particular, cocking his head at Inigo: "Just no distracting Inigo in the middle of a game."

The blush still remains on Inigo's cheeks, because it's really hard to force such an intense one to go away so quickly. But he can't keep hiding forever and he knows it. Especially not since Tidus' suggestion makes him blink curiously. He really thought Tidus might be going somewhere more devious with that! This is a very mild outcome, thank Naga.

"Sure. I mean, I would spend time with you two whenever you'd wa..."

.. Wait, hold on--

"Though you were the one distracting me to begin with, Tidus!" He takes a small step over to Taiki, dramatically grabbing the other's hands. "Taiki, don't worry, you're doing great!"

Tidus waves his racquet lightly, swinging it from side to side as he puts on a dismissive face betrayed by the humour surrounding him.

"You distracted yourself! Don't blame me!" And then, to Taiki, with a tone wearing a sigh: "Looks like we know who his favourite guy is in the room."

Compare this trio, the two holding hands and the one being made out to be the bad guy...! Not that Tidus minds being the villain at all in this case.

Inigo, however, is well aware that this is just teasing. If not just because he's well aware Tidus already knows that Inigo would gladly have that sort of contact with him. They hugged! They were lying in bed together!

But Taiki looks so worried. And if there's anything that's completely unacceptable to Inigo, it's Taiki existing in the world while looking so worried. He has to correct it right away.

He doesn't let go of the other's hand, but does gently lead Taiki over closer towards Tidus, before making a blatant grab for Tidus' hand to hold that with his other one.

"Of course I like Tidus too! Geez, he knows that. --You do know that, right, Tidus?" He may be squeezing Tidus' hand as he says it, even. Thank god that his poker-smile-face is working in this case and hides his internal screaming in worry at the fact that Tidus is probably not as happy about this hand holding as Taiki is... "See, Taiki? I'll even hold his hand when he isn't being nice to me and threatens to cast me into the deep, dark, cold waters!"

The warning signs, oh they were right there with Taiki's words, and yet--well, no, Tidus knows Inigo would, instead of simply pretending to or anything like that. And yet he still doesn't think to hide his hands away or do something about it when Inigo clearly comes for him.

It must have been a moment of idiocy. He blanked. His senses failed him! There's no other reason for this to happen!

...alright, it's not that bad. It's just weird, and he can't believe he somehow enabled their chatting to go in this direction. What a fool he was...!

"Yeah yeah, I know," he says with a sigh, looking at them once with an embarrassed frown on his face before ducking his head. He doesn't know what to do about that squeeze, the earnest quality that Inigo seems to speak with (sorta). But his cheeks are dumb and warm, bugging him until he finally sighs again, louder this time.

"Aren't we getting distracted here? We're all friends, Inigo's okay--" he lifts his racquet up in his still free hand. "Let's keep playing!"

He doesn't pull his hand away, but he also never holds it back.

Yes, exactly, Taiki, isn't it strange? Now who is the one expressing favouritism here, huh?! This is discrimination against Inigo's friendship affection!

Thankfully Inigo doesn't feel too bad about it this time, since Tidus at least doesn't make fun of him or anything of the sort. Even if Tidus' reaction still isn't ideal, he at least doesn't seem annoyed about the hand holding, nor does he attempt to pry off Inigo's hand, so.. you know what? Inigo will take that. He'll chalk this up as at least a slight victory in his book.

Inigo only finally lets go of Tidus' hand at Taiki's question, letting out a 'pffft' sound.

"I'm fine." Granted, he would have said that even if he had been bleeding profusely from the forehead.. but Inigo looks like he's okay. "Let's get back to the game!"

do we want to start wrapping up?

taiki has nicer hands, deal with it.

He's not going to sigh with relief once Inigo lets go of him, but he does sure feel somewhat better about it--like a guy who was just put under a test and didn't balk when put through it! Like Inigo making fun of him... ugh, whatever, it didn't matter!

Tidus takes a quiet breath and turns to walk back into place, facing away from the pair allowing him to gain back his cool. "Easy mode's gonna be over now, so you two better prepare! Let's try knocking the shuttles far as we can, and see how hard we can hit it across! I'll move out, you two stay around where you are!"

It does its job, that time and the focus back on the game. He's on the side with more of the shuttlecocks, taking out a few from the cupboard and jogging just a little in, but creating a fair distance from where he was before. Taiki and Inigo are gonna help him experiment with badminton...!

Maybe Inigo should be a little more wary about this talk of hitting the shuttlecocks hard, considering his little accident from a few moments ago.. But much like a dog that keeps running into the same glass door over and over, Inigo doesn't even bat an eyelash at the idea of having to face these things again. Whatever! He's fought much bigger things!

So with a grin at Taiki and Tidus, he nods.

"Let's get going!"
