Who: Tony + Varies
Where: Tony's lab and then the medical room
When: Early Grasshopper 3- Grasshopper 4
What: Between bad self-care and poor ventilation while working on specific chemicals, Tony passes out
Warnings: CW: Distress and medical stuff? Tony being Tony? Idk.
Notes: Tony's classes are going to be suspended for a couple weeks.
Grasshopper 3, The Incident [Narrative]
It'd been a rough few weeks. He'd made a decision to end his relationship with Ignis only to have the man disappear. He had to watch the man depart on platform day and hold his child as she mourned the loss. His other kid, Peter, was a mess with losing May and still not over Gwen leaving- not that he blamed the boy at all. Wei and his son leaving had been hard to watch too.
So, he coped as he always coped- by working. The pressure to find a cure for a boy who deserved to have his life back spurred him on as well. Working closely with Peter and sometimes Conan, he knew they were getting close. With just a little more coffee, a little more bourbon, he was sure they were going to get that breakthrough.
He'd woken up early and returned to his work. In a beaker, he added a chemical compound he'd created over the last few days and watched the reaction. He winced as the reaction kicked up an awful smell. Turning to write some notes, he felt the room start to spin. The coffee cup fell out of his hand and broke on the floor. Coughing, he couldn't catch his breath. Putting a hand to his chest, he felt pain lance through his body stemming from his heart. Just when he hit the floor, he didn't know but the world turned black.
The Rescue [Closed to Kitty, the Doctor, and whoever else she might need (medical people, idk?)]
When Kitty finds him, he's on the floor barely breathing. It's not quite a heart attack but the symptoms are really similar. A few of the coffee cup shards dug into his skin when he fell. He needs help and fast!
Grasshopper 3 (late) and Grasshopper 4, Medical Room [OTA]
He spent the majority of the day asleep. Slowly sometime that evening, Tony woke feeling weak and disoriented. He groaned finding himself in the medical room. That was never a good sign.
[ooc: Feel free to come bug him after he's woken up.]

"Is there a place to make bets on who ends up in here next?" There's barely a breath before he continues. "I guess that wouldn't be fair to us newcomers, we haven't put faces to names yet." They did have everyone's names, to be fair.

He scooted up a little further on the bed and sighed. He hated feeling weak like this. "So you're one of the new guys, huh? Not the best first impression, but I'm Tony Stark."
no subject
"Nita said she was in here because she somehow ended up in the luggage - it seems strange things happen here. First impressions rarely say much about a person anyway." That is to say that Uta wasn't going to hold this against Tony. "My name is Uta. I am one of the new guys."
no subject
He frowned though hearing about Nita. "I'd wondered what happened to her." He'd unfortunately been preoccupied with other things- like what brought him here. "Uta." He repeated, memorizing it as effortlessly as he did most everything. Sadly the last few minutes leading up to how he ended up here were among those memories. By now, he'd heard what happened but it still felt strange not to be able to recall them on his own.
"This place is very strange. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Well, except what's the deal with bringing people back in suitcases. That seems to be our host's twisted sense of humor."
no subject
"So far I have been told that we all arrive at the station and nobody knows how we get here, nor does anyone know who brought us here. We help worlds. And nobody 'did be buying tickets, or choosing to be coming here'." He didn't mimic LO's voice when he mimicked her pattern of speech. "There are teams, though there is no strict regulation on participation. People don't stay dead here. I've had a long running assumption that all children of Hydaelyn have a love for very strong coffee and that seems to hold true even here. We somehow earn points, they can be spent in a shop of some kind." He paused. "And, of course, people can apparently disappear and come back in a suitcase as if we were only luggage stowed for a long trip."
He paused again, thinking. "That sums up about what I've found out, and in my asking around that seems to be most of what people have to say." He glanced down at himself as if remembering something. "Apparently having your own clothes is something of a luxury as well."
His gaze returned to Tony. "Does that seem to sum it all up, or am I missing something?" He'd done a lot of his own discovery, though he wasn't sure if that would be considered impressive or not.

He nodded along to the rest of what Uta had to report, pleased at how well the knowledge they'd gained on the train had been shared. "Have you also discovered we have a lot of great chefs and bakers on board and there is always something good in the kitchen for people to take? That's a rather important one if you ask me."
no subject
"Nobody told me, no, but I wondered. I met Sarai in the kitchen and she seemed to have a muffin of some kind. We were distracted by another conversation before we could talk food, though..." He digressed. "That is a relief to know - and I think maybe even a little bit more important than death not being permanent. Good food is key for a good mood." He assumed. Humans seemed in better spirits after they ate.
"There's also a few green thumbs, it seems. The car with the plants in it is quite impressive: I've never seen anything quite like it on a train before. And at least one musician, as well." There was a thoughtful pause. "What are you?" Aside from a joker, that is.
no subject
He was okay with that.
He didn't normally care about flowers, but he too thought the carriage was remarkable. "I'm Iron Man." He was aware that likely didn't mean anything to this person, but it was who Tony was. "Other than being a defender of my world and the wealthiest man in history, I'm an engineer, a baker, and a father. Somehow all that adds up to train leader. What are you?"
no subject
Train leader. Those were the magic words. This was the man to get on the good side of.
"At home I was an artist. I owned a mask shop and would make custom masks for my customers." A pause, then a sheepish smile with a coy tone. "After home, I remained an artist, but I would draw portraits of new friends. One friend loved to dress up in silks and languish in his melancholy." There's a fondness on his face as he recounts this.
His focus returns to Tony and his tone returns more to normal, his smile fading a bit. "Ah - forgive me. I became a drinking buddy, a confidant. An explorer of other worlds. Much like what I've been told everyone does here, but the goal was different."
The easygoing smile returned to his face. "I hope there's a similar place for me here."
no subject
"What kind of goal did you have?" He had the slightest suspicion there. Chalk it up to Thanos for his paranoia.

Uta chuckled as Tony said that alcohol is more effective. "Ah, but silks are luxurious and when you languish in them you're beautiful, you know? He was one for theatrics." Uta's smile grew a little ornery. "I'm personally an alcohol guy myself. I imagine, though, if I had an artist at my disposal I may prefer to languish in luxurious silks with a wine glass in hand." He winked to Tony.
"Oh, our hosts wanted us to solve some kind of mystery or find some piece of information. We may sway the tides of a political race, or start a revolution. The conditions changed every place we traveled." He shrugged.
no subject
He nodded as he heard what kind of goals there were. That made more sense and was less concerning than he'd feared. "That is very similar to here. Although our goals often involve a planet or galaxy being destroyed and in need of saving."
no subject
Oh, yes, a silks room would be quite nice. Uta would have all of the beautiful subjects he needed to draw and, well, there were probably some men who would frequent the room that he'd come to admire. Uta would agree that it would likely become an adults only room, but that would be fine too. Almost welcome in comparison to the incredibly sanitized experience this was already turning out to be.
"That's what a small girl told me when I arrived. She mentioned that we are assigned to teams and each team has different goals in the places we go. And that, well... The teams aren't enforced in any way." He shrugged.
