Blue Meeting:

Who: Gladio + Blue Team and Friends.
Where: Dining carriage. (Change of venue, larger space)
When: Grasshopper 15th after lunch.
What: The first Blue Team meeting with the new Leadership in place.
Warnings: Unknown. Possible cuteness. Snack induced jealousy. Will update if something comes up!

To say that Gladio was nervous would be an understatement. He hadn't been able to get much sleep the night before worrying if this would work out the way he had planned. Would people be receptive to what he asked? Would people even come to this meeting? He had been assured by several people there would be at least some (who could resist lovingly prepared snacks?) but it remained to be seen.

Gladio sat at a table, there was a notepad and a pencil in his hand. He would be taking notes of things he deemed important.

Once people started filtering in, Gladio began to feel somewhat better. Calmer. He watched them milling about with a smile. It was only when he thought there was enough that he rose and gave a call to get people's attention.

"First, I just wanna thank everyone for coming. I know it was short notice, but between the mission and platform day coming up, my hands were tied.

In future I'm going to do my best to have a meeting like this before every big mission, once we get the info. I don't think a little organisation can hurt. And... with that in mind. The reason I wanted to get you all here. I want everyone to get to know each other. And I want to learn more about you all. I'd like, if you're all willing, to assign simple roles within the team to each person for missions. If you don't want to be part of that, just let me know. That's your choice." He smiled wider. "If you do... I'll get to you. If you've any questions, I'm open to them. Piccolo and WangJi are also here to answer your questions and concerns. Not just here and not just for missions, but any you have. We're here for you."

With that his smile became a grin. "Now... I know two of our number have been working hard to make delicious snacks, so do me a favour? Make them happy and dig in! Enjoy them and... chat. Mingle. Get to know your fellow blue. We're a small team, lets make us the best team!"

"Soon as I hit the bed, I was out!" Said with a sigh. It was more because of all the healing he ended up doing after getting back on the train, but the week long mission and boss fight didn't help either.

"To be honest, I'm still feeling out of it... but that just means I got to get moving again more, do some exercises and get warmed up! Can't stay lazy for too long."

Okay, I think I understand. Though for the self defense classes, how many would I actually need to do.

[Because in all honesty she is only going to go to one.]

[ It says something about her getting a little more used to the nickname that she doesn't immediately freak out upon hearing it. Sure, Madoka's cheeks colour a little, but it's nothing compared to the usual. She mostly just smiles at the warm way he greets her. It's nice. ]

I'm not sure if you can say it's bothering me.. [ Maybe it is, a little. But Madoka knows she'll feel so much more at ease if she shares it with someone else. ] It's just.. Mami-san often comes along with us on missions, right? So I should tell you something about her.. [ Her voice volume lowers a bit - although it was fairly quiet to begin with, as usually with Madoka. ] Though maybe it's best to talk about it a little further away from everyone else.

"Ah, that'd be great.. Mister Gladio saw what I can do with my bow during the last mission, so that means we'd be able to stick close together.." And what could possibly be better on a mission?

A bit more curiosity enters her smile at the last part though.

"Can you drive any kind of vehicle? Or, um, just.. you know." Madoka looks slightly awkward, like there's something she's avoiding bringing up too directly. "T.. Those things I saw in your dream.."

(She's trying to avoid mentioning anything else that happened in said dream, okay.)

That's why you're the leader! [He grins! Truth is he does miss mister Inigo quite a bit, but he also thinks Gladio will be a great leader of blue team!]

So is this when I have to tell you the things I can help with?

Though the embarrassment does seem to simmer a bit, Madoka's cheeks still slightly pink, there's no resistance to the shoulder pat at all. Instead she just nods slightly when he continues to speak.

"That's right." She's flustered in an entirely different way now, really.. She didn't imagine she'd stand out that much at all! "I actually only recently started to be able to do that.. So I suppose you could say the timing really was lucky. I was glad that I was able to help everyone out.." Madoka tucks some hair behind her ear. "How about you, sir? Did the mission go alright for you?"

That was a difficult question to answer, was the problem.

"It shouldn't. But there is a possibility. And only one way to find out." She took a breath. "But if we could apply it, somehow, I could... find some way to be far more helpful."

"You're catching on very quickly." Almost like she's a natural. Almost like if she became a magical girl, and summoned the weapon that best suits her nature, she'd have a bow.

Crazy idea. "Mobile suits. Those are my specialty, but I can figure out almost anything." Manual transmission might take a minute.

[blitzcheer]

[ Hmmm. That makes him lean back a bit, until- ]

Swimming. [ And he remembers something, a light chuckle in his words as he goes on. ] You need someone to go down somewhere and there's fiends there too? No problem! Getting knocked around and holding my breath was kinda my job. Swinging a sword underwater isn't that hard either.

[ Because screw density. ]

[He gave a nod and a smile.]

I guess if that's all there is to know, then we're about done here.

But if anything comes to mind, if you've anything you wanna discuss with me, suggestions or anything. Just let me know, alright?

"Then... maybe talk to Tony, or someone else technically minded? I don't know much about that kind of thing, unfortunately." It was one of his own weaknesses, he supposed. But there were others on the train who made it their strength. They could help Ple Two he was sure. "Talk to them and we can see where to go from there."

[callmegladio]

One of them. [He corrected gently, still with a smile.]

Yep, this is where you tell me all about yourself, Romeo. I'm all ears.

As many as you think you need to make sure you feel safe if anything happens.

[Gladio hoped nothing WOULD happen, but he was trying to prepare for any eventuality.]

Swimming... Interesting. I'll be sure to keep that in mind. [And he made a note of it, because of course you never knew what would come in handy to know.]

You're a guy of many talents, huh?

[Gladio's smile faded some and a look of concern replaces it. With a nod he closes his notebook and moves down the bench of chairs and out, gesturing for Madoka to follow him to a more quiet, unoccupied corner of the dining carriage. There he decided to just sit down with the back against the wall, out of the way of anyone else.

When he spoke he kept his voice low.]

Alright... Tell me what's wrong with Mami?

It really almost is like that, huh, what a coincidence!

The compliment makes her smile, and that smile continues when thankfully the conversation stays away from the dream and focuses more on Ple Two's - quite impressive - capabilities.

"That's so cool..! Even things like cars or motorbikes?" Maybe the idea of someone Ple Two's age driving a car should be concerning more than anything.. But Madoka has always found the other so outright capable that it feels almost natural to imagine all the same, somehow.

It was the result of such intensive research...

"I'll make a point of it." Even if they don't have a ton of raw materials to just build things, they've found lots of ways around that.

It's easy enough to talk about mobile suits - they're simply a fact of life. As long as they skirt around what happened, it's not very concerning, really.

"I'm just tall enough to reach the pedals and such, so it shouldn't be difficult." Let the child drive!

[blitzcheer]

[ Pfft. ] Aren't you one to talk? You're a--Shield [ that was the word, wasn't it? ] for Noctis, aren't you? A royal guard? Now you're a Team Lead!

Bet you've got plenty of tricks up your sleeves.

Katsuya nods, and grins.] Sure thing! ...And uh...guess I oughta vacate th' seat f'r whoever's next huh?

[ Madoka obviously follows him over. And although she could probably remain standing for the conversation, since him sitting down actually makes their height difference pretty bearable for once, she figures that it might look odd if someone were to look over.. And she's trying to be at least kind of subtle about all of this!

So she ends up sitting down next to him, folding her hands in her lap. ]

Um, well.. Is there anything you already know about Mami-san? Or her powers? [ Figuring out that first is probably a good starting point. ]

Let the child drive indeed.

Especially since Madoka goes quiet for a moment. The look in her eyes almost turns a bit daydream-y, since her imagination is definitely running away with this one. Ple Two, all dressed up in a cool way, with an amazingly cool helmet, coming to pick her up on a motorbike for a date...

This is too much for Madoka's heart, even if it's a fantasy that can't exactly come true on the train. But. You know. Let the girl dream about her cool motorbike-driving girlfriend.

"You really are so cool, Ple Two.."

And while it's not strange or even uncommon for Madoka to show the other girl with compliments, there's definitely that special tone about what she's saying now that implies she's very much imagining something that makes her heart pound faster than usually.

I can fight a little bit with a spear! I was learning in the heavens but I don't got a spear or anything here. I can do borderlines too, which can be shields or I can attack bad monsters with them. On the world with all the crabs I couldn't do that though, my powers weren't working. I also know two shinki spells and if my God, Elfnein is with me she can make me be a weasel and then I can help make everyone feel better! But she's on orange team.

[A brief look of surprise crosses Gladio's expression before it vanishes and he laughed.]

Tricks? No. What you see is what you get with me. But you're right. Back home my official title would've been Shield to the King. Basically a royal bodyguard.

[Gladio grinned back and then pointed with his pencil across the way.]
