Double the Bunny, Double the Fun

Who: WangJi and You! ... with closed action to WuXian
Where: Greenhouse Car, Dining Car, randomly around the train
When: Horseshoe Day 1
What: WangJi has retrieved his new rabbit from the luggage car and wants to introduce it to the train... and find his husband
Warnings: Fluff? Is fluff a warning?

WangJi had finally picked up his request from the luggage car, a small black rabbit that was both a friend for Little Rabbit and a surprise for his husband... since he wanted him to name it since he had gotten to name the last one.

So he was wandering the train with the black rabbit in his arms, standing out brilliantly against his white sleeves. He wanted the rabbit to get used to the sights and sounds of the train, the same way that Little Rabbit was used to them as well.

In the course of his exploration with the rabbit, he made it to the dining car to see what herbs and vegetables were available for a snack and through the library. He avoided the music car because he didn't want to upset the small rabbit with too much noise.

Greenhouse Car
Finally, he decided to take the new rabbit to meet his companion, Little Rabbit. For the moment, he was going to let them get used to each other through the fence of what would be their shared hutch, letting them not see the other rabbit as a threat.

But the black rabbit, of course, wanted to explore the garden car, hopping around and sniffing the plants.

"Careful, little one," WangJi said to the rabbit, kneeling in between where the rabbit was exploring the hutch where Little Rabbit was sitting, watching the new arrival.

Finally, he found his husband. Somehow in a living arrangement that was basically a straight line, it was still hard to find people.

"Wei Ying."

He approached, holding the black rabbit in his arms.

Nita looked across the room to where the rabbits were staring at each other.

"Just let me know when."

It sounded like a good project to spend time on.

"That's quite amazing, both what happened and that you have figured out how to solve it. I have never heard of anything like that happening before. I would imagine if it did go back to pre-agriculture times, it would certainly take some time to make enough of the required medication."

"Yes, they can certainly be entertaining. They are also very calming."

His rabbits really had no other purpose in the Cloud Recesses other than they made him happy and he was important enough and his brother so willing to accommodate him that he could have a warren of rabbits that served no productive purpose other than to help keep the grass from getting too long.

The bunny sniffed her fingers before deciding he wanted to get down again. WangJi put the rabbit back down and it wandered over to Nerdanel on his own.

"Yes, that is true. I stalled on the name for Little Rabbit, but I suppose WuXian and I will have to come up with complimentary names for them."

Amazing how it was sometimes so hard to find each other on this train since it sounded like WuXian had been looking for him as well.

"It is. I just got him today."

He smiled faintly and kissed WuXian back when he leaned in.

"I want you to name this one. I was trying to decide on a proper name for Little Rabbit, but I never decided so perhaps we could figure out names for them together."

WangJi looked at the rabbits as well. They seemed to be getting along, but he didn't exactly want to leave them alone so soon just in case.

"We can go now. Take the new rabbit to explore a little more."

"Hopefully he won't need his own headphones...!"

But Nita could make up for that with a wizardry, if needed.

Some minutes later, once in the carriage, Nita stared at one of the screens, scrolling through the digital library.

"What instruments featured, in the songs you know?"

"Yeah, that took about a year." Senku agreed with a bit of a nod. "Coincidentally, agriculture has nothing to do with it, it's a mix of nitric acid and alcohol. Nital." He grinned.

"Calming?" He blinked. "But...it's a bunny." He didn't really understand the purpose behind it, although if he gets calm from that, more power to him, he supposed. He had a hard time relaxing himself, he wasn't the best judge of what bunnies could do for people.

The train was a mystery wrapped in an enigma, to be sure.

Wei Wuxian appreciated the kiss back. But, before he could appreciate it more, there was talk of the rabbit again. Which was cute and all, so Wei Wuxian gave the name some careful consideration.

"Well, until we come up with a name, let's call him Little Bunny, so we don't get confused."

Nerdanel waits patiently and rewards the bunny with soft scritches when it wanders closer.

"Perhaps you can name one, and WuXian the other?"

"I'm sure he will be fine."

Bunny probably didn't need headphones.

In the music car, the new rabbit sitting tucked to the front of WangJi's robes - and he was quite happy there with his tiny black head sticking out, WangJi began looking at the screens with her. He still had no idea how to use them but he would probably learn now.

"Flute. Qin. Lute."

Nita occasionally had to fight the urge to pet the bunny - mostly because her hands were occupied.

Fortunately 'Qin' (after she prodded the peridexis for the spelling) narrowed the results significantly... though there were still tens of dozens of results.

"Is this something like what you're looking for?" Nita said, selecting a song practically at random and mentally crossing her fingers.

"I see. I am afraid I do not know what this 'nitric acid' is and I am guessing wine is the not alcohol you are speaking of."

"Some find being close to animals to be calming. I have spent many hours sitting on the back mountain of the Cloud Recesses with my warren of rabbits. If they come to me, I give them attention. If they do not, that is their choice. Either way, being with them helped me."

"Yes, I think that will be good until we come up with names for both."

The small black rabbit was wiggling his nose in WuXian's direction, looking right at him.

"You can hold him. He is yours as well."

The bunny was happy with scritches on the head, flopping down near her to let her pet him.

"I think that would be good. He would like that. And it is fair that we both should name one."

"It's a chemical compound. We use brandy, actually, so you take the wine you mentioned and distill it further until it's about 96% proof." Senku explained.

"I guess, I never really gave something like that much thought." He hummed. Only Suika had any pets, he didn't know anyone else who did.

Which Nerdanel is only too happy do to.

"It will make it easier, too!" She smiles. "Easier to come up with one name then two."

Says she who named her last two both "Ambarussa" (although, well, identical twins, but still)

It is hard to resist petting the rabbit, especially when he looked so cute like that and was content where he was.

As she picked one of the songs, WangJi picked up the headphones to listen to the song. It didn't take long for him to smile faintly. "Yes, that is a song from home."

"I see." Actually no, he really doesn't, but he'd leave anything related to alcohol to others. And everyone on the train would be thankful for that.

"If you ever want to spend some time with an animal, you are welcome to accompany me when I visit my rabbits. This one is still new, but Little Rabbit is very much used to the train now."

Happy bunny is going to lay there. WangJi smiled, watching the rabbit.

"It is. Especially if you want the names to work together in some way."

Nita smiled.

"Looks like we have a winner, then."

She swiped the screen, looking for a 'related' playlist to see what would come up.

The third result was clicked, and began to play after the first song was concluded.

"And this?"

WangJi kept the headset on, petting the tiny head of the rabbit sticking out of his robes. He wondered if the rabbit could hear the music through the headphones, but as long as the rabbit didn't seem upset, he was going to assume not. The problem for an animal with such good hearing.

With this next song, he was most definitely surprised as it began to play through the headphones.

"What song is this?" And he was looking at the screen to read it.

Because he KNEW this song.

"It's translated as 'Unrestrained', though I'm not sure if that's the SCAs at work."

She knew she would have mispronounced it if it weren't for the auto-translate, but she highlighted the relevant characters.

"Where do you know it from?"

WangJi could read it fine without the translate, which likely helped.

"'Unrestrained', yes, is what it says, but... no, it is not the same."

But it had really sounded like it was got a moment. It was almost painfully close. But... Even though the "ji" was wrong, it was almost the same naming as he had given to his.

"It sounded like a song from my world... called 'Forgetting Envies'. And I know it because it is mine."

Nita's eyebrows go up, and she turns to face him slowly.

And then, smiles.

"Well, I guess that means we can say you were almost a multiversally-famous composer..."

Slightly less funny in that it implied someone stole it somewhere down the line, but if the song were that close it still meant something, right?

"Perhaps... there are slight differences between my world and the worlds of others I know. Most everything is the same, but a few things have been said that don't make sense. Perhaps... if that's true, it is still mine."

He pointed to the characters in the song title.

"'Wu' and 'Ji'. My song has the characters 'Wang' and 'Xian' - 'Wang' from my name, WangJi, and 'Xian' from WuXian's name. The 'ji' is not mine, but it is pronounced the same and it is reversed."
