Glorfindel |OTA
Who: OTA
Where: Various places
When: Horseshoe Day 3-5
What: Glorfindel gets busy making things for the next mission. Also, hanging with friends!
Warnings: None currently
Luggage Car (Open, but hope to see Inigo, Mami, and Jessie, threadjacking is AOK)
Glorfindel had his measurements, and was ready to organize. His friend Erestor would be so proud. Before everyone else showed up, he lined up the things that were currently stored in the room, then started putting them into the smaller pieces of luggage stored in the racks, making sure to label them with what was inside. For those already organized like that, he just labelled them.
Considering that people would appear in the larger bits of luggage, he left those empty and put them where they would not be hemmed in, so that people would not get trapped.
There were some vines and a couple of cracked bowls now masquerading as pots near the entrance. His plan was to sweep, give everything a bit of a wash, then string up the vines to start freshening up the air. He was waiting on his cohorts, but doing some groundwork in the meantime.
In the course of tidying up the place, he found a couple of spots that were...specially set aside just as they were. He did not want to take away anyone's refuge while making the car more friendly to those returning, that would negate the whole effect, after all.
Recovery Rooms (Now with extra Rapunzel, I hope! Medical types are welcome to Threadjack! Or anyone with an opinion on Themes.)
Glorfindel wanted to make sure the Recovery Rooms were ready for Rapunzel's paints, so he took a little time to make sure the walls were clean, and covered the beds and furniture with sheets to protect them. Since they were definitely not in use, this was the best time to spruce them up and make them warmer.
Once a theme was set for each room, he was wondering if anyone would be interested in making silk flowers, or quilts, or other handcrafts to make the rooms look less clinical.
Greenhouse: (With Galo, any other medical types, or people with time on their hands)
Glorfindel had spent the day previously harvesting most of his plants, to make the healing salve. The trick to it was to cook it over a fire, low and slow, while stirring quite frequently. He had a cutting board, a knife, lots of water, and hand made a couple of stirring paddles out of bamboo. Time to get cooking!
[Various stages will include chopping, stirring, more stirring, yet more stirring, watching it cool, then portioning it out into the little containers he'd been saving. Feel free to stop by at any point!]
Wildcard:
[Just like hanging out with Glorfindel? Come find him anywhere!]

Greenhouse
"Ready for the next stage at your say-so, Glorfindel," he says.
Re: Greenhouse
Re: Greenhouse
Have a bit of self-deprecating humor, Glorfindel.
"I have it memorized as of now, Glorfindel; never fear. But as for how to pass the time as we stir - did you have something in mind?"
Re: Greenhouse
"Hm," he rubbed his chin. "We could talk, or we could sing, or we could sit in utter silence and creep out anyone who walks by?" His grin was especially wide now.
Re: Greenhouse
If indirectly.
"That I would have ice cream with him, were I ever to augment myself in that way."
... He was tempted to go for that last option, if only for the momentary humor value; he winked.
"I don't suppose there are any books you would like to read aloud while I stir?"
Did you expect him to say anything different, Glorfindel?
"We could take turns in that, as well."
Re: Greenhouse
Glorfindel grinned. "Have you read all of the new My Little Voidtrecker books yet? Alternatively, I could read you the Mystery in Mirkwood, if you prefer. I could try one of the science books, but I might stumble on some of the pronunciations."
Re: Greenhouse
Webmind offered a knowing smile in turn. "Yes. It seems to be quite the franchise. Though, I would like to hear Mystery in Mirkwood..."
They could skip out on pronunciation issues for now.
Luggage
Re: Greenhouse
"You do?" He smiled. "I would be happy to read it to you. I can even do the voices," he said with a wink. "If you like it, I can order the rest, even."
"I'll be right back." It only took a moment for Glorfindel to run to the Library, check out the book and come back. Okay, maybe two moments, but he was pretty quick.
Re: Luggage
luggage car
Like helping out here.
When he shows up and spots Glorfindel already there, he stands up straight, even giving a slight salute. Maybe something about Inigo seems a little too enthusiastic. Overcompensating, Inigo? Never. Clearly. Obviously.
"Sir! I'm ready for duty!"
Re: Greenhouse
"If it's a series, of course I would be happy to hear the rest."
It's longer for Webmind than for Glorfindel - but that was normal for Webmind, and as such he was used to it. As a callback to Glorfindel's own joking suggestion, though, he just stared at him silently, a smile on his face.
Greenhouse
Daia was looking at the instructions on the screen as he tried to gather the needed supplies. And when he feels he understands well enough, he heads further in to look for places to plant. Imagine his surprise when he sees...
"Glorfindel!" He heads over happily, setting his seeds and watering can down to get a closer look at what the Elf is doing.
Re: Luggage
Recovery Room
So it took a few trips to bring everything into the one room. With that sorted she rolled up the sleeve of her Orange uniform and was ready to go. Soon her eyes wondered over to the things being covered and tilted her head.
"Did things need to be covered for painting?"
Re: Recovery Room
"Today we get rooms 1 and 4, as Ichigo is using 2 and 3 for his blood draws."
"Just tell me how to help, and I will."
Re: Luggage
He finished sweeping up the floor, having dusted earlier. [Look, after 5000 years of experience you *learn* stuff like that!]
Re: Greenhouse
He held up the book, book one in a series about an Elven Detective named Greenleaf. "Speaking of autographed copies, just before he sailed, Legolas's father Thranduil had me sign his entire collection. Apparently he is a big fan. He even has the spin-off series of Young Greenleaf mysteries."
Re: luggage car
[lulling him into a feeling of safety? Why...maaaaaybe!]
Re: Greenhouse
He has eight piles of herbs next to him, which he was just finishing giving a good wash.
Re: Greenhouse
"That is a high honor indeed - though I couldn't say who had the higher honor!"
A joke? Perhaps.
"We could make a small project of acquiring those for the library as well, in time."
Re: Greenhouse
"Oh, quite. Legolas himself found it amusing, fortunately. He gets mistaken for the author quite often. Oddly enough, very few ever figured out it was actually me, though I thought it rather obvious," Glorfindel said.
"I've been writing that series for quite a while. It might take a bit of time to collect them all," he confessed.

But today? It's fine. This is fine. Inigo is going to scrub this whole place like a maniac until his brain is unable to think of anything but cleaning. Goodbye, worries! Farewell!
"Got it!" Which means he's still just. Way too enthusiastic about this. Especially by teenage standards. He's already rolling up his sleeves. "Don't worry, I could do this all day!"
Might do to fade/timeskip through the book at this point?
Webmind could only :D
"Well, I am sure the train will be blessed with whatever we manage to onboard. Now, were we to start at any sort of prologue, or simply 'Chapter 1'?"
no subject
He looks at the herbs.
"Are you getting these for food?"
Hold onto your hat!
Glorfindel made sure to stop for water breaks and to check on the salve, though with Webmind stirring it there were never any issues.
"Before I continue, on to the end," Glorfindel said, preparing to resume. "Do you have any guesses as to who did it? Or, more importantly, how they did it?"
no subject
He thought for a moment, then offered, "Do you want to take that half and we can race?"
Aha! Daia has a plot! I need to add that to the map!
He smiled at the other. "If you go to the very end of this row, next to the far door, there is an empty plot, right next to the one where I put some from the Island we just visited. If you like the look of it, that is. I just cleared it, so I know it is free."
Greenhouse (Sorry for being late)
He won't mind if stirring is all he can do. It's helping out and the benefits to the whole train will be worth it. He glances around while taking care not to look at any view of the void. Once was enough.
Wheee!
He did his best to look mock-offended at the last question, though.
"I should think it is patently obvious, dear Glorfindel," he replied.
"But what I can't do is write your book for you; that would take all the fun out of it!"
And, in his opinion, make it much less fun to read.

She frowned a bit at the thought before her focus was back to the task at hand. "But that is all I can think of."

Inigo gasps, pressing a hand dramatically to his chest. He sure is laying it on thick here, huh. But Inigo has never been great at being subtle.. Especially not when he's overcompensating like right now.
"Do you not trust me to be able to do this all on my own? I know I may not exactly be ancient." Or glowing. Or magical. Or-- look, a whole lot of things! "But I may just be the hardest worker you've ever seen!"
Welp, I guess he does now, lol. Thank you. ^^
Or maybe not. Daia's still not the best at cooking, he might mess it up.
Daia looks the direction that Glorfindel indicates. And he nods.
"Okay, I'll go look. I'll be right back."
He gathers the seeds and watering can and scampers to the plot real quick. He doesn't have to look long to decide it's perfect and sets everything down before scampering back to Glorfindel.

Cassie is on the floor updating the wall of bugs, today adding a little army ants to stand in for Wakanda. She spots Glorfindel from her perch,"Yell if I can help or just pass things?" But the weird from the cave came back, but how?
