He looks back at Roland's face when the other pulls back enough to look at him. Something about the other guy's expression makes him painfully aware of just what Inigo's face must be looking like right now, and it makes something twist in his gut. Maybe this isn't the right thing to do. Maybe he should just have tried to smile, no matter how hard it was. So Roland wouldn't have had to worry about him - so he wouldn't have to smile such an empty smile, one that's reflected in Roland's mouth, but not his eyes.

And part of him wants to protest. That it's not going to work, that even if he's going to try and rest, his brain is just going to go over all these worries all over again. That he can't stop his mind, and that that might just be the hardest part of all.

But would that be fair to do now? Roland is trying so hard to help him. The least he can do is at least not make things even harder on the other, right? It's not like Roland has any blame for the way things happen here. He's trying to roll along with the departures and pain just as much as the rest of them.

So even though there's absolutely no conviction about him - shoulders sagging, arms limply hanging by his side the moment he relents his grip on the other, the look in his eyes growing more empty by the moment - Inigo nods. He doesn't move either yet, like he's just waiting for Roland to drag him along to wherever the other wants to go. Just going along with it. What else is he supposed to do? Just standing here and waiting on the platform isn't going to bring Gerome back.
