Adam both did and didn't have a lot of questions. Rather, he had a lot of them but he wasn't going to ask any. He stared at the sketch of the Sundogs, blinking a few times before looking away. It was heavy information to take in. Killing every dreamer just because one was going to end the world (if that was true) was... some part of him said 'efficient' and he hated himself for it, but it was also awful. He'd thought this was the dangerous place and back home was safe, even if there had been a monster lurking (the Lace? He wasn't sure), but now he thought he had it backwards.
What was he supposed to do to keep Ronan safe? To protect anyone? He swallowed, staring down at his hands. "God," he said after a moment, but then fell quiet again.
It was worse than he could have imagined chasing after Bryde would go, and he'd imagined a lot of terrible outcomes. He didn't know why Bryde was doing what he did, either. Why help other dreamers? Out of the goodness of his heart? Adam doubted it. The real question was...what were they going to do?
"This whole time, I'd been thinking how much I wanted to get us home. But now-" he shook his head. He was sorry he hadn't been there, for all the good he would have done. He was sorry that, for whatever reason, he hadn't picked up his phone. He'd checked it when he'd gotten to his dorm, so he didn't understand. He was sorry any of this had happened in the first place.
They had to get home though. They couldn't leave everyone else in the lurch, not knowing if they were safe or being hunted.
"We'll get through this." They'd always gotten through things before, they'd get through this, too. He didn't know how right now, but give him time and he'd try to figure something out.
