She looked down at her hands, frowning. "Something happens to their names, and then apparently when the train stops they just... leave," she said softly. "Lots of people here have seen people leave. I... try not to watch, generally."

"By which she means she over sleeps arrival then spends too long in the kitchen and they're gone by the time she gets out there," the cane said, breaking into her sad mood.

"Hey!" she sputtered. "I do not oversleep! At least... not that often," she mutters.
