adregem: (higgledy man)

Jumblie does the only thing that makes sense for the tiny higgledy filled with a universe's worth of light - she squeals high and mighty, jumps into the air, and in a flash, there are five others with her though lacking her signature headpiece and flowers. They jump up and down as if excited to see Inigo, and all at once rush him, covering his body with their own.

But still, the voice that resonates within him is real; whole. Young traveler, your smile is beautiful! The laughter in your memories is what I like the most! Higgle Piiiig!

Meanwhile, Roland finally looks up from his book and sees everything unfold with wide eyes and a dumbfounded stare. First he wonders if the Brand in Inigo's eye is glowing because he may not have been allowed to gift the boy a magical creature that bonds itself to human emotion and spirit; maybe it's part of his pact that Roland should have known? It worries him initially, but the more he watches them interact, the more he understands something special was occurring before him. And when Inigo begins to smile through his tears, Roland's heart warms at the sight. They're different from the tears on the platform, shed from grief and loss. This - this was the sun peeking through gray skies, however slight the slivers. A seed, beginning to sprout.

He keeps the book in his Arms Band, and walks over to Inigo. Kneels in front of him as he has done many times in the past, and wipes the tear marks on his cheeks with careful fingers. Another act that's been said and done, that he no longer needs to think about it.

Thank you, Jumblie. Protect him, okay? Make sure he's always happy. Really happy.

"Guess this means you're friends now? Heh."
