OTA - Ramen, anyone?
Who: Senku Ishigami, Gen Asagiri, Roland Crane and open, so very open!
Where: Kitchen
When: Horseshoe 17
What: Senku misses ramen, and so in tradition, he's making some and there's definitely enough to share.
Warnings: Shouldn't be!
Locked to Roland and Gen
Ramen didn't just make itself, and while he could cut a break, it seemed unlikely that Gen was going to leave well enough alone. He was pulling out ingredients for the broth and the noodles and he grinned.
"Glad you could make it." He addressed Roland with a smirk. "Time to pay up." He said with a beckoning motion of his finger. "Come on, I'll teach you how to make ramen."
He didn't know if Roland was familiar with it or not, but most people probably couldn't make it from scratch either.
OTA - Everybody come and eat!
It may not have been their turn to cook, but Senku didn't care because he was the one missing it the most.
The ramen that is being served has a light, brown broth from soy sauce and is actually quite tasty. Gen and Senku have had a lot of practice with substandard ingredients, and so making it with the real thing?
It's pretty decent. They went with shoryu ramen because it was the easiest with the ingredients on hand, mixed with some of the garlic and ginger that they picked up, as well as served with pork - real pork they picked up on the mission, not mystery bear meat.
Both Senku and Gen were helping to serve and dress the ramen, just like they might be at home.
[Ramen free for all, grab a bowl and Senku, Gen or Roland, or any combination of the trio above.]

So he smiles and moves their bowls closer to the chef. "Thanks very much."

He's tempted to ask to pet the worm-type-Digimon, despite his normal dislike of insects. But he's speaking to him and talking to him like a person, it seemed very rude to suddenly treat it like a pet.

Wormmon tries to wink back at the nice ramen guy. Wormmon cannot wink. So he ends up looking like he has something in his eye.
....Ken stares until Wormmon pipes up again, which indicates to his partner that he does not, in fact, need help wiping anything off his face. So Ken picks up some of Wormmon's pork with his chopsticks instead. "I'm Wormmon. What's your name?"
Question asked, Wormmon opens his mandibles wide for Ken to feed him the pork. Yes, he could probably feed himself when he has his own bowl, but all food tastes better when it's from Ken-chan!
This is a proven fact of the universe.
no subject
"And you are?" Gen tilted his head at Ken.
no subject
Both partners blink, look sheepish at having talked over each other.
"Sorry."
"It's fine."
And then they're smiling at each other again before turning back to Gen. "Nice to meet you, too."
no subject
It was really very cute.
no subject
Ken will have to think about this. Wormmon has his own take on the situation.
"I used to have to talk for Ken-chan more. But now he's grown up and can say what he's feeling."
That's what it means to be a grown-up, right?
He opens his mouth so the grown-up can feed him some ramen.

Wormmon probably either just encouraged Gen, informed him partnerships like that do exist, or complimented the ramen. It is difficult to tell.
"Nothing like this exists in your world?" Ken asks, to make sure: there are so many worlds. What purpose could there be for bringing people from that many worlds here? The Digital World only ever summons children from his real world. Ken had never questioned that until now. He feels rather small-minded. "Aside from in fiction."
no subject
"Not in my world. There's people who have pets, certainly, but a dog wouldn't be able to tell me that he's helping his owner regain her confidence or say he wants ramen, too. Though I'd say that the bond between people and their pets is still important? It's still not the same."
no subject
This is why Digimon do not equal pets. This reason alone.
...Ken is just going to take a bite of his own ramen because he really doesn't have a follow-up for that.

Ken can't mind the truth, not really, but it being that obvious does make him slightly self-conscious. Wormmon, however, is extremely fond of this topic, and waves his legs so Gen will pay attention to him.
"Ken-chan only breaks rules to help people! We pick up LITTER when we see it!"
These times are few and far between, because on the whole, they live in a socially-conscious country. But Ichijouji Ken is not the sort of person who can jog by a discarded soda can in the park without finding a receptacle to place it in - partly because it sparks ruminations on the nature of mankind, partly because he'd feel like leaving it there would be an imposition on whoever needed to clean.
And Wormmon helps. (By tripping over the soda can. He will not mention that bit.)
no subject
He told Ken with a wink, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone of your rebellious, litter-cleaning ways."
no subject
"What about you?" Wormmon can, occasionally, be curious about people who are not Ken-chan. If they like Ken-chan enough. People who like Ken-chan are good. "Are there rules on the train?"
And does Gen follow or break them? If there is a rule about feeding Digimon, Wormmon likes that one. A few people have followed it so far.
no subject
"Honestly, if anyone was to make an official set of rules, I'd propose the first and most important should simply be, 'Don't be a jerk.'" Gen grinned at them.
no subject
Though....
"...Do you mind if I ask something about the other passengers?"
Wormmon looks over, distracted from even ramen. He has a feeling he knows where this is going, and he wants to hear it too.
Because it's been worrying Ken-chan!

"On the platform, I met someone who openly stated they were a villain." Ken does not mention that this "someone" was a book. Or that the book had introduced himself by a song-and-dance routine featuring exploding penguins and being lit on fire. None of this registers as reasons to perhaps not be concerned. "Is that...common?"
no subject
"No, it's not common - except, perhaps, from Zetta," Gen told him, once he was done giggling. "Is that who you're referring to?"
no subject
And no one's....worried?
(On multiple levels?)no subject
"It does seem to rub some people the wrong way ..." Gen's expression was a little bemused, "... a lot of people jokingly mentioned wanting to yeet him off the train."
Of course, he wouldn't bring up the fact that Gen was very, very worried about Zetta, and would be keeping a close eye on him. Ken seemed like a sweet boy, it's probably a good idea not to freak him out.
no subject
But also....
.....
......"'Yeet'?"
Ken is from 2010. "Yeet" is from 2014.
(These are the things people find themselves researching for online roleplay.)
no subject
Did that clarify? Hopefully in person, Ken would realize that he's being teased in a friendly way, unlike those girls who threatened to chuck him off the train instead.
(( I giggled so much :D ))
no subject
The light dawns. ".......Ah."
Wormmon looks up at Ken, impressed. Ken-chan....Ken-chan is so clever. Wormmon still doesn't get it, but Ken-chan does!
In short: it's a third, completely unexpected reaction, Gen!
Ken has no idea he's even being teased at all!
