Bright and early, Ichigo came to the medical car. He had a large thermos of coffee, and Shiro had a cardboard box with some cat toys to keep him busy. He'd even managed to get some of his pens back from Grimmjow. Setting up a stack of file folders, he opened the door to the first exam room and got ready.

"Good morning! Here for your check up?"

As promised, Eight is right on time, bright and early. She's standing beside the door and looks to the man as he opens it.

"Whoope!" She chirped. "Thank you again for doing this."

She pauses, giving the matter some consideration. "Also it would be interesting to me to see how humans perform medical exams."

Thea quietly dreaded this, blame the island. But she is facing the fear and getting it over with. "I'll spill in private." meaning the island. But at least the indent from the collar is long gone?

Glancing up when the door opened, Kitty smiled.

"Yup. I'm ready to go."

Danny still wasn't completely sure about this. He'd spent the past two years avoiding doctors, because he was pretty sure that there were some things going on with his vitals that there definitely would be questions about.

But considering he knew Ichigo had his own not really a ghost weirdness going on, he figured this was about as safe a chance as he'd get.

He waves at Ichigo as he steps out. "Guess so."

"Good morning!" Stepping aside, Ichigo gestured for Eight to come into the exam room. "Feel free to hop up on the bed, and could you tell me your name? I haven't had a chance to memorize all the new arrivals yet." He picked up the first blank file and grabbed his pen. "I'm Ichigo, by the way."

"Of course, your privacy is very important." Ichigo let her into the room and shut the door behind them so no one would eavesdrop. "And you're Thea...Queen? I want to make sure I get your name spelled right for your chart."

"Great to see you again, Kitty-chan. Hop up on the bed and we can get started." Ichigo beamed at the teen as he let her into the exam room. He was glad to be getting such a good turn out.

Seeing off his previous patient, Ichigo smiled at Danny. "Ah, Danny-kun, come on in. Don't worry, I'm only going to make sure you're as healthy as you can be for your condition." He patted the teen on the shoulder and ushered him into the room. "Up on the bed with you."

He can't help it. He snickers as he follows Ichigo into the room and hops up on the bed..

"Well, I guess that's one way to put it."

"My name is Eight." She smiled as she hopped on the bed. She takes a glance around and, even though she knows this is more a construct of the train than what an actual human doctor's office is like, shelves the image in her memory as one.

And, as she had no other point of comparison, she waited politely for Ichigo to continue with ... whatever it was he was about to do next.

With a nod, she entered the room and hopped up onto the bed, swinging her legs a little as they dangled over the edge.

"So what's first?"

"One boring teenager alert!" Cassie being Cassie goes for the joke.

"It's hard to classify as healthy when you're half dead, especially when I'm not sure if you can get sick as a ghost." Grabbing the next empty file, Ichigo jotted Danny's name on it. "Let's start with your vitals, then your height and weight."

Writing down her name, Ichigo smiled and picked up his stethoscope. "Pleasure to meet you, Eight-san. This may seem like a bit of an odd question, but do you have a beating heart?" Since Romeo didn't, it reminded Ichigo that such a question would be important to ask.

"I'll start with your vitals." Reaching for the blood pressure cuff, Ichigo undid the velcro and looked at Kitty with a smile. "Got a preferred arm? And no phasing through the cuff."

Ichigo snorted at the joke, ushering Cassie into the exam room. "If you're boring, then I'm mildly interesting at best."

"Thea Queen." cue graceful nod. "Pre train I spent just over a year on screw or die island. Long story short gotta screw or die, the collars would choke of we were not "worshipping" as often as Eros wanted. Want things to be bearable housing wise, more screwing." Yes she is very bitter, Eros and the island did its damage.

Eight nodded. "Yes. I have three. Though two of them are really small now. They used to keep blood flowing to my gills, back when we breathed underwater."

"The two small ones do help when I'm swimming in ink, though."

Ichigo couldn't help it, he hissed in sympathy at what she was describing. "I'm going to assume you have some physical scars from the experience as well as the emotional and psychological ones. Was there any...amputational damage that needs to be recorded in your file?" He'd only ever heard about such things, but from the sound of what Thea was saying, it was a possibility.

"Interesting." Ichigo made a note of the three hearts. "And do you know where they all are, or are they all in your chest to your knowledge?"

"The center of my chest, and beside my lungs." Eight motioned to the locations on her body.

"Just the indent from the collar that has finally gone away." Thea shows just enough of her neck to explain.

"Sorry in advance for the smell." Jessie makes no secret of her being a smoker. "Just had a smoke before getting this over with." since she is not a fan of doctors.

Taking note of the locations of the hearts as well, Ichigo put on the stethoscope and smiled at Eight. "Alright, I'm just going to take a listen, make sure they have a regular rhythm and that nothing sounds abnormal." He didn't have to know what the standard resting heart rate was for her species to know when a heart sounded like it was malfunctioning.

Ichigo managed to smile at Thea at that, examining her neck just a little to see that there was indeed no mark to be seen. "While it sounds like a truly traumatic place, I'm glad you weren't left with any significant physical issues. I really wish we had a proper psychologist or therapist here on the train for you to work on the internal issues with, though. In the meantime, we can start with your blood pressure and listening to your heart. Do you have a preferred arm for the cuff?"
