Wei Wuxian slumped down onto the bench and laid his head on the table. "This is a catastrophe," he declared, slightly muffled by his position. "I've recovered from the battle, gotten all cleaned up, and I am out of wine."

He gave a heartfelt sigh before turning his head. "How are you doing? You weren't injured, were you?"

"Well, I can't help but notice that you have all but adopted her," Wei Wuxian said. He drank a little of the tasty wine that his beloved had gotten him. "We could make it official, you know. Lan Qing."

"Yes, that is true. When she arrived, she became rather attached to me and I to her, as a teacher and a student would be." He debated that in his head as WuXian drank some of the wine. "We could approach her on that and see if she is interested."

"How do you know if someone else came over and shook your can?" Wei Wuxian asked, curiously. Not at all like someone who would deliberately shake a can and then give it to someone.

He finished his sandwich and leaned over to check out the can, to see how Trunks opened it.

"You can't really tell until you open it. WHICH, since you shook yours earlier, that's why I do this." Trunks replied with a hint of smirk, before tapping the top of the can. "You open it like this." Being sure to hold the can more towards Wei so he could watch as Trunks pulled up the tab, and opened the can. Then he passed it back to the other man.

"Now, I wouldn't recommend shaking it and then leaving for someone as it's a waste of good drink. We have to buy our own here on the train, remember?" Which meant Trunks' cans of beer were even more limited in stock, since he'd brought them with him.

"I feel like I need to do so." But he already burdens his nephew with so much. He is feeling much lighter with less weight. "And it pains me to leave her behind with him. I wasn't thinking in my right mind, and I wasn't strong enough to stand against him."

With a nod, "I'm glad there are many people teaching him and mentor him. He changed so much that I don't think he is quite himself the way I remember him. I hope he changed for the better this time and he learns remorse and regrets from his mistakes." The improvement he sees in him is significant.

Much like the mention of Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian's bold claim has her first chuckling, then turn somber as her line of thoughts proceeds.

This time, unlike when she was thinking of her own feelings for Jiang Cheng, she forces herself through the discomfort - it's always easier talking about others than herself.

"You would have been," she responds, far too solemn for their banter, "You would have been as good to them as you were to us." Her eyes drop to the table and her hands, tightly clenched. "If it hadn't been for us..." For her. If it hadn't been for her, pleading with him for a favor that changed his life.

"I never waste alcohol," Wei Wuxian said seriously. "It is too precious, especially here."

He started to take a cautious sip out of the can. It immediately did weird things since the opening wasn't one he was used to, so he held it further away and just poured some into his mouth. It was fizzy, which was unexpected, and the taste vaguely reminded him of bread. He swallowed, then looked at the can.

"What is it made out of?"

"It depends on the kind, but usually hops, yeast, and water are core ingredients." Trunks said with a smile, watching Wei's reactions. "Nor does it always come in cans. If you buy it from the Train Store, you get a bottle."

"So the fact it tastes a bit like bread is intentional, then?" he asked. He took another drink. "The fizz is interesting. Sort of scours your tongue a bit though."

"Yes, and that fizz is the carbonation. Basically adding Carbon Dioxide to a drink to give it that fizz."

Wei Wuxian frowned, then looked at Trunks. "Isn't that the stuff you exhale? Someone breathed into my drink?" He sounded a bit offended.

"No one breathed into your drink. It was added chemically. Think about how the can was sealed. It's all done by machines."
