"Not sure Cole's ever been summoned, per se," the Inquisitor's not sure if the original Cole's pain had counted as a summoning. Hadn't he said that he'd reached through, and then come through, the Veil on his own in response to it? But then, that could still count... maybe?

"Spirits on Thedas embody emotions and themes of the mortal world. Valor, Justice, Rage, Sorrow. Things like that. He's a spirit of Compassion, so it's pretty hard to get him to take offense at anything on his own behalf."

Or to put it simpler, "The kid's literally made of empathy. He just wants to help."
